Tanx for the B-day wishes. I haven't really "celebrated" that day since I hit 40. This getting old is getting old quick. Especially since I've been into lifting wts over half my life. Can't do near what I used to even just a few years ago and have several permanent injuries unless I want to go with surgery which ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

Rob,congrats on the anniversary

BL,what kind of lifting are you into? Bodybuilding, powerlifting or just generally a mix of everything?

I got off jury duty, thank God. What a bore. Now back to boxing up and shipping all the kits I've been remiss about sending LOL

Had yet another crap night sleep. Usually I go to sleep quick for 4 or so hrs then AWAKE for 2-3. Usually fall back asleep 1/2 to 1 hr before alram goes of at 6am. Last night and several nights previously I slept for maybe 10 mins and woke up so hyper it was like mainlining a pot of expresso  :o :o. That was last nite. Finally got 5 hrs sleep and woke up at 8 am with a semi migraine from a bad disk in my neck. After breakfast I did a double shot of Southern Comfort with my coffee and a pain pill. Watched 4 episodes of Lee Marvin in MSquad ,Read for awhile. BBQ'd a couple thick steaks. The wife actually got a raise so we splurged. After that just chilled with a couple bombers (22 oz bottles) of 10% IIPA
The pics tell the story

Now you sorta know my face.

That's a good-lookin' yard, Lester!  I pretty much avoided the yardwork today for a change.  Cleaned up some messes in the house--put stuff away, moved things around so it looks like I did something!   Turkey breast cutlets cooked ahead so I'll have a couple days out of those, and am gonna watch PAN'S LABYRINTH, which several members liked last year.  I'm slow but steady, I guess.

Well I watched the Wizard of Oz with my two and a half year old Grand nephew, it was his first time and to see him moving in time and singing |Ding dong the wicked witch is dead made my life complete. This really is a magical film to be enjoyed for ever and we followed it up with Disney's Three little pigs series. After that he got a Superman action figure to beat up a small figure of a bulldog he calls the wolf. I am such a bad influence.

Hey Man
I take it that is the brand new 3 little pigs DVD? That is a long time collectible of mine. Original 50s golden book. Mid 80s Schmidt 3 LPs music box and a couple other minor things. How is the quality of the print? Saw these at Walfart for $13. Worth it?

Thanks Bro
When we moved in here in July 2000 it was nothing but the grass the trees and the shed. I did EVERYTHING else myself. The wife planted flowers.I am so tired of digging, moving /laying brick dirt mulch etc I can't tell ya how much. Two more years and I SWEAR I am done. Yep,thats exactly what I thought 4 years ago. Bring on the Belgian ale , 80s power metal on the boom box and another truckload of base and brick. :P Thus quotith the Charles Brown " Good F'N Grief! :o

Gasport

I gave a couple of guitar lessons in the afternoon, cleaned last years gunk out of the gas grill and got it ready for summer. During this, i enjoyed one of my fave little sadistic pleasures...My 15 year old son had his buddy sleep over the other night and while they were waiting to go to a birthday party my son asked if he and his pal could watch ''House On Haunted Hill'' because he'd never seen the original. I said ''sure'' and popped in the DVD for them. I had stuff to do, but hung out a while 'cuz i ALWAYS have to be in the same room when someone gets their first glimpse of the scene where the blind housekeeper ''hag'' comes floating by. I noticed my son doing the same as me [he's seen it before] and as the scene neared, was looking at his friend instead of the TV! The kid looked like he was half asleep up until this point and suddenly LEAPED off the couch and whacked his foot on the bottom of the coffee table! My son chimed in...''you see that? Now THAT'S classic horror!" I almost felt a tear well up in my eye...A proud moment in any old school monsterkid's life. I really felt like i was passing the torch on to him, in a sense.

Hey...I genrally just do a mix of everything, I lean much more towards  overall strength training though. I used to be big in Mixed Martial Arts, Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and Escrima...so it made sense to hit up the iron...then I kinda got "addicted", and I think a mix of weight..that $**&(*at*) incline bench press on an already messed up shoulder due to arm bars just did me in. The surgery stunk but I really dont think the recovery is what they say it is...I started lifting light already. I'm starting to think the physical therapists are scaring me into being there 3 times a week (I buy my own insurance mind you)...and its getting ridiculous. Aside from the stretches I do....I just feel Im doing stuff that no longer challenges me or the injury. $$$$$$

I woke up, took my Jeep to the mechanic and left with a 862.00 bill. Awesome. Rear drums, shoes, oil change and a charge on the air conditioning unit which literally comes out as cold as it did BEFORE I brought it in, so its going right back. If I was back at my old Apt I seriously wouldve done the brakes myself there...but here in this little complex its a no-no so there ya go.

While my car was being worked on I was pleased that my Imperial Kong had come in the mail today and I watched The Man Who Laughs to pass the time. After that I had a date this evening with a girl I met. It was pretty cool..we played mini golf, then went for dinner then drinks...she was pretty cool and we had a good time. I came home a little while ago, devoured a package of Oreo's (I feel sick!) and now I'm checking out the Monsterpolooza pics which look GREAT!

black, i thought you were dating that one girl?

saturday i got up at 8:30, played a little 'star wars: battlefront,' took a bath and helped the guys building us a privacy fence while the woman i'm married to ran the store and helium-ed up some balloons for her nephews graduation party. the fence got 2/3 of the way done, looks awesome. used a power nailer. whee. closed at 8:30, had a busy day, watched some simpsons on DVR after picking up some arby's. fell asleep watching 'treasure island' on TMC.

so far today i've nursed scratches, sore muscles and bruises. nail gun broke, home depot is the only place what rents tools on sunday ~ they don't carry real nail guns, just finishing guns. helped fix the one we had. store closed on sunday, will do chores the rest of the day and count the hours until day is over, one more wasted day, another day closer to death.

whee.

Nice yard Lester, we're in the middle of fixing our front yard ourselves as well and I feel you man, landscaping is a pain in the a**!

Give me a hammer and nails before dirt, mulch, brick etc...

Today will be low key (recovering from last night: mixing wine and Remy', not the best combo), yesterday got some new Horror Host DVDs in the mail from a trade, so I'll probably pull a double feature today. One thing's for sure, no yard work today!

My wife's making some hot Indian style chicken, and we'll chill out the rest of the day.

I woke up late and had a pretty lazy sunday. My cousin asked me to dog sit today so I had a 9 mo old Dachshund to look after today which was a heck of an experiance! I guess she had a little seperation anxiety and she literally barked from 11 AM till she came and got her at 9 pm. It was beautiful outside today so I kept her out with me and gave her alot of attention, but she was still a handfull!

I brought my laptop outside and decided to take someones advice and download a drum machine program, between the dog and everything else I ended up downloading the drum program and about every virus and addon known to man...it took me about 3 hrs to get rid of everything. Yet another lesson in "free downloads" learned.

My cousin came to pick up the dog (thankfully) and I ended up watching baseball highlights and the Stanley Cup. I also started messing with this weekends finds..a 3 3/4 Remco Phantom and an Imperial Kong, both got their traditional and ritualistic kitchen sink baths before being dried off and put on display. The Phantom was in great shape, the Kong arrived really..dusty and just in need of a cleaning. They both look great!

Now, Im watching Family Guy (one joke just had me gagging I was laughing so hard) checking out the UMA and headed for bed.
