Well, after 5 days with a sore throat (must have rubbed elbows with someone at Wonderfest who had sore throat germs on said elbows!), I gave up and went to the dr's.  Got some miracle drugs and expect to be CURED by morning.  Or within the next 6 days or so.  The stuff from the Acker-auction arrived today and cuz Sara and I opened them (arrived in two cartons) this afternoon, like kids at Christmas.  It's just odds and ends, but it's Forry's odds and ends, and I treasure 'em.  Will show pics at MEM. MEM. in a day or two.  Cuz and I had supper at Kim's Korean--bulgogi soup--which was hot and hearty and made my throat feel better.  Tonight I'm tuckered out, but in a good mood.

Stood on a road (Jennings Station, for those familiar with St. Louis) and stopped traffic when a scrapper had to cross, this was my 5th day of this extremely boring process.  At least I remembered my mp3 player (6hrs of Danzig, Misfits, Samhain, Black Sabbath and White/Rob Zombie to pass the time).  I really can't complain since it's the first work I've done since March!!  If the weather holds out I'll be doing my usual job come Tuesday (playing in the dirt, setting string, lugging forms, etc.) instead of being loaned out for traffic duty.

Can't wait to see your new treasures! Hope those meds kick in quickly, and you are back to 100%!

You don't want to know. Involves drinking tequila and digging certain sized holes in my yard. :o
(I wish we had a laughing, rolling emoticon... )  ;D

Had a really good day today-- got a leg back up on stuff around the house here, plowed through some old email, caught up on reading friends' posts on Facebook, did laundry, listened to Joe Moe's music CD (which is wonderful), petted the kitties, went through papers and filed/recycled/tossed a bunch of stuff-- and did not drive anywhere or go anywhere!

As I was dead tired last night, I'm typing yesterday's report this morning.

Filled the car with gas and likewise the gas can for the lawn mower, then stopped to fill 2 tanks with propane for the grill.  I kept thinking that it was definitely not the time to have anyone crash into the car.  Then I watered the plants and vacuumed out the car (long overdue).  Finally we went to an auction and I actually got some cool stuff for me that I'll be posting in the Weekly Finds thread soon.

Hey same as Mr Tullo! (too tired)... Yesterday I - after work - mowed the front yard, ate pizza, assembled a grill stand, stretched out on my bed with my laptop and the Twins game and utterly passed out! Been up since 4:30 and feel great  - long weekend, I'm off til next Wednesday woo and hoo. And I've been sitting outside with my coffee and my mac (under an eave) in the rain. Very groovy.

Today we began the process of remembering all those who have served and are now serving this great country of ours. We remember those you have given the ultimate sacrifice to defend this nation of ours.  We set out to sell "poppies" for those who remember. We placed the flags so that others will not forget.

Dug more holes of certain sizes. More tequila and some pale ale. Trimmed a maple tree and saved $150 if pros had done it. Attempted to build a Wal-Mart grill I paid $30 for. Wasted an hour because it was a total piece of pop can crappola and smashed same grill with a 35# wt plate. >:( >:( Also ranted like a sailor about way inferior Chinese made products while smashing it and made the neighbors run inside. They'll get over it. Now I have to go to Sears Hdwe and spend $100 on a Weber pre built model. >:(

Today I started recording the vocal portion of my band's new CD. I tell ya I'm the only person who can go into the studio fine, and come out limping...I have flat feet and was an athelete so this sort of thing just happens. Now I am watching House Of Dracula with my foot in a bucket of ice.

I am also resting my voice in preparation for finishing the vocal duties tomorrow. I was happy that when I opened my mail box a brand new copy of The Lost World 1925 & 1960 had finally arrived from Amazon AND a book called Monsters Of The Movies arrived from ebay.

I'm really happy to be recording my part of the cd on Memorial Day weekend, as lyrically my band has been very "vocal" (pun intended!) about supporting our troops..past, present and future.

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice long weekend and bbq!!

Meds the doc prescribed for me yesterday finally stopped my sore throat pain, so woke up in a good mood this morning.  Got a truckload of mulch delivered, so now I'm all set for some (gradual) mulching of the sidewalk beds and backyard tomatoes.  Watched THE HOSTAGE, a flick with (Harry) Dean Stanton and John Carradine from '67, and it was much better than I expected it to be!

Happy to hear your feeling a lot better Robert, an irritated throat can be very annoying.  Today I conquered the dreaded Honey-Do list.  Painted the front door, put out solar lights for the walkway, and cleaned out the gutters.  Karen is happy, and if the Master is happy I'm happy.   ;D

Anyone else thinkin' it's dangerous at Lester's? Lots of holes (ummm... what size?  he's been vague about that... are they... *gulp*...  body sized?) and 35 pound weights flying around... yinkies! ;-D  Good thing Rob was not anywhere near there, with his fuel-loaded car, yesterday!

Robert, glad you are on the road to improvement there!

Hope your foot gets to feeling better, Black Lagoon! And hope your shoulder/nerve improves, Lee!

Another good day here... ran to the post office (to mail out the signed Jack Pierce petitions I had) and then spent the day at home working on odds and ends around the house.  Went for a 3 mile walk... first time since back from WonderFest, and so far so good on that!  Enjoyed the 1977 version of The Island of Dr. Moreau on Svengoolie.  (I remain eternally gratefully they moved him to 9pm, from his old slot at 11pm, a couple years back.  I used to fall asleep about an hour into the movie, no matter how much I enjoyed it.)

Thank you!...Im starting to see more similarities with UMA members other then Monsters!...Sore throats, pinched nerves, foot problems...we could all use a trip to Dr Frankenstein! :)

Here's hoping we all feel better soon!

Cool thread, Elizabeth!  Interesting to see what people (and other... things) are up to.  Had a nice Saturday with my wife.  Outdoor Art Fair in Downtown Lafayette and then a short cruise around town.  Grubbed on baked BBQ chicken, fries, grilled veggies, slaw and peanuts which I washed down with 52 ounces of ice cold Killian Red draft (at Logan's Roadhouse).  Helped wife put together a photo display for our daughter's graduation party, but I mostly just got in the way.  Watched a couple of cheesy Sci-Fi channel movies and just now got online.  Sitting here typing and looking at my little Imperial Kong as he guards over the keyboard.  He just glanced at me.  Guess I better hit the sack, soon.

Yesterday, finished the T-Moldings for these damn floors! There are finally done!

Transplanted some bushes, dug some other holes, while my wife planted her flowers and worked in her garden. Later grilled some chicken for gamenight. A couple of gaming buddies came over (both retired military) and we played some senarios from Panzer Leader until past 2am.

Forgot to add: another eBay order came in: 2 Box Set Limited Edition 12" EPs with gatefold covers: Iron Maiden Aces High/2 Minutes to Midnight. Thanks BlackLagoon for the tip!
