It's J. Michael Roddy here - One of the Producers of The Shark is Still Working - The Impact & Legacy of JAWS. I wanted to announce a new project I am working on.

I am starting a new documentary and would love to have all of you involved.

Monster Kids
The Impact of Things That Go Bump In The Night[/b][/b]

Listen to them... Children of the Night!

Light your lantern, grab your Garlic and Wolfsbane and hold close as we set out to explore the fascination with the Fantastical. Monster Kids, a brand-new documentary delves into the darkened abyss of the Laboratories and crypts to investigate the continued impact of Monsters on the youth and the culture of America.

Join original Monster Kids and a host of Hollywood's most prolific filmmakers, writers and fans as they explore why things that go bump in the night fascinate us. From original props to detailed recreations, from toys to high-end collectibles, we will examine the appeal of the Creatures of the Night.

Interested? This is a labor of love project for me and I want to share the story of the Monster Kids. As a Monster Kid, I want you to be involved.

Sincerely,
J. Michael Roddy

This sounds like a pretty cool documentary, and I'm interested, I've been collecting Aurora Monster Models since they first hit the shelves in the early 60's...Frankenstein,Dracula, Wolfman...the Movies and Models went hand in hand, to me, back then...and still do today...There was nothing quite like playing with the Addams Family Haunted House kit by the window during a violent thunderstorm, making the ghosts drift past the windows, illuminated by a random flash of lightning...to send a shiver down your spine!...Those were the best times, man...

The Creeper

That sounds like a really awesome documentary, I am interested as well!  I have been a monster kid for as long as I can remember.  Getting to stay up late and watching the classics hosted by our local horror host.  And collecting toys, games, comics, and movies since I was a kid.  I will always be a monster kid, heck my favorite holiday is Halloween!
Long live the UMA!

Agreed over here. Sounds like a genuine labor of love. As with The Creeper, sneaking downstairs to watch Count Gore, Ormsby's "Movie Monsters" book, toys, comics, Halloween all equal Monster Kid over here.

Hell, Halloween is a whole season in our house: October 1st - November 1st with Oct. 30th Halloween Eve (a long story) and Oct. 31st the big day. My wife gets a whole Christmas Season, I got Halloween!

Keep us posted!

Okay Monster Army,
I am going to be in LA from May 27th - June 3rd for the first leg of the documentary. I will also be attending the Monsterpalooza event and hoping to also catch footage of the Egyptian theatre screenings. Anyone in the LA area want to be a part of this and maybe help out? Sandwiches... beer... anything? I want to also document any of the LA UMA Monster Kids... let me know a.s.a.p.
