Worth it to advertize in Scary Monsters magazine?

I was thinking about putting an ad in ScaryMonsters magazine for the Monster Cafe.  Anyone know what the circulation is?

I'm sure they can give you circulation numbers.  Just email Dennis, he's usually fast with a reply.  You might ask him what his circulation is in Mexico.  If you were in the US, especially in a city where a monster convention happens, they it would make a lot of sense.  But your cafe might make an interesting story for the magazine.  Send him some pics and tell him about it.

That's a GREAT idea Bane...write an article w/pics included. I'm sure Dennis would print it. He's been a great supporter of me and my work w/ Zacherley over the years.

Definietly, write an article and add some pics as Mike suggested.  The people who give the Dracula Tours did that (and they also now advertise in the magazine) so you get to stretch your advertising buck in a way.

Forgive me but why do I have to write my own article?  I am not a writer by any means.  I DID send via scaremail at aol my facebook account which has alot of my photos in them of the cafe.  Matthew Quinton Green for anyone who wants to check it out.

You don't have to, but if you want it published you have a lot better chance of that if you write it.  Dennis isn't likely to come down to Mexico to write a story about your cafe, and just looking at your pictures isn't enough to write a story from.  Usually, when businesses want newspapers and magazines to write about them, they send out a press release, which is basically a story about their business.  If you don't feel like you'd do a good job writing it, perhaps you have a friend or customer or employee that would help.

I´ll just copy the one that the Mexican paper did on me except in English.  I will see what Dennis says when he contacts me first though.

Be sure to let him know it was written by a newspaper.  He can't just print that as it is.

Hmmm....He hasn´t contacted me yet.  Must be a busy guy!

He is.  He runs the entire business by himself (editing, assembling and the mail order stuff in the back as well).  Currently he is putting together the Monster Bash issue.  Monster Bash is only a few weeks away.
