Yes.

I haven't played it, I mainly just bought it for the figures, graphics, and because I'm a Hammer nut. It does look like a fun game to actually play, as well as collect as monster eye candy.

not a board game,but a pencil and paper game: Ravenloft AD&D2nd edition campaign, accessories and adventures, it's Dungeons and dragons set in a gothic horror world with vampires, werewolves, ghosts and so forth as the main creature enemies.
I have a whole bunch of monster or Halloween themed puzzles.

Where do you find these games in such nice condition?

They're not common but they can occasionally be found in places such as Ebay or Hake's and Heritage auctions.

When I decided to expand my collecting efforts to board games and lunch boxes circa 2005, I knew I'd have to use a rifle shot approach or else display space would quickly become a very real problem given the size of these items. I wanted to avoid the Rick Polizzi scenario. He started collecting board games after stumbling upon one in a thrift shop in the late eighties that he'd had as a kid. By late 1990 his collection had grown to over 400 board games:



Evidently his collection would continue to grow to well over 1500!

I therefore decided to limit my purchasing to only those board games which looked like they could be new old stock. Still I succeeded in finding some on delightful themes/subjects!

I still have my original Dungeon! game from the mid '70s. Here's a net pic:



My cousins and I played it so much that I hand drew new levels with new cards for monsters and treasures. I also made up several new characters with new rules pertaining to them. I still have all of that extra junk in a big portfolio case in the basement. That was a precursor to fantasy and superhero roleplaying games for me. Later on I played The Fantasy Trip by Steve Jackson for a few years and finally graduated to Champions and Fantasy Hero from Hero Games which I played nearly every weekend for a couple of decades. I remember sending off for a trial issue of a gaming magazine from TSR after buying Dungeon! and they sent me Dragon #1. Haven't gamed for around 10 years, but I did for most of my life. Now I get my gaming fix playing Skyrim occasionally, but no computer game is as much fun as getting together with your friends over a tabletop RPG for several hours.

Where or how did you assemble the group of people with whom you played? Ardent gamers aren't everywhere.

I met most of them through comic book collecting, one at a flea market vendor's booth buying comics, and the rest were people we met through a local comic book/gaming store that went out of business in the '90s. It would usually just be 4 or 5 of us core gamers but occasionally 2 or 3 more would show up for a few hours. We discouraged more than around 6 gamers at a time because it gets too distracting with too many players and kills the fun of the actual game.

One fellow I met in the Army gamed with us in TN for a few years before moving back home to Atlanta. When I was stationed in Egypt for a year I got a group of 4-5 people interested in Champions and we gamed religiously in the barracks every weekend until I came home. It beat going into Tel Aviv getting drunk and maybe getting blowed up by some terrorist's bomb. I also saved some pretty good money that way.
