Yes, the echoey voice Dracula and the mush-faced Monster are in the Al Adamson/Sam Sherman "Dracula vs Frankenstein."

The Naschy film "Dracula vs Frankenstein" is also known as "Assignment: Terror," that's the title it had when I saw it on TV in the 70's.

If you are looking to buy either film, they are both available through Amazon and other outlets but because they have the same title, are sometimes confused by the sellers.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

Thanks for clearing that up. Come to think of it , I have seen Assignment Terror a long time ago, don't really remember that one very well though, may have to do another viewing.

Anyway, we all have our guilty pleasures in addition to the classics.

I didn't remember at all the echo voice Drac had.  Even though I said I wouldn't get it, I probably will eventually.  It has Lon Chaney jr. in it!  Too bad he didn't have any lines.  Not that it would've made the movie any better.

Baron Latos, apparently there are "two" versions of the Naschy movie.  Assignment Terror and Dracula VS Frankenstein.  They are essentially the same film but there is an overall run time difference.  The one called Dracula VS Frankenstein runs a few minutes longer for some reason than Assignment Terror.

WARNING: When purchasing the Nascy Dracula VS Frankenstein from Amazon do NOT buy it from their secondary vender Cheesy Flicks.

When I did I got the Naish/Chaney JR. Dracula VS Frankenstein.  I thought I might have made a mistake when ordering so I ordered it again.  I figured I would keep the Naish/Chaney Jr. version anyway.  Well, you guessed it.  I did not make a mistake when ordering but Cheesy Flicks sure did and sent me the same movie again.

I wrote both Amazon and Cheesy Flicks and even sent them the entire add from Amazon clearly stating that Naschy and Michael Rennie was in it.  I got a really smart assed answer from Cheesy Flicks.  I was very pissed by their rude comment and wrote another very condescending letter with lots of all capitals and again showing all the DVD covers and film descriptions shown in Amazons adds.  I was sure to point out how stupid they were and that with our economy in such bad shape it is no wonder that businesses fail with attitudes like theirs and no sign of customer satisfaction.  I guess it is now an antiquated and outmoded idea that the "customer is always right".

When I had my store and a customer ordered a product once, I actually forgot to place the order which caused a delay in getting the customer's product.  The customer did not even complain and was not upset by the delay but I was upset with myself so I gave the customer two free products when his order came in.  You can imagine how shocked he was that there was still integrity in business.

In the end I purchased the Naschy Dracula VS Frankenstein from one of the other sub vendors and got the right film the first time with no hassles.

Just be very careful when you order these as stay as far away from Cheesy Flicks as you can.

Thanks for the info Wolf Man, and I will stay away from Cheesy Flicks, too bad you had all that junk to go through for your movie.

Now I think I'm clear, I have seen all of these movies, Assignment Terror was the Euro Horror I was thinking, and Dracula vs Frankenstein I have seen as well (the American release title) as well as the "other" Dracula vs Frankenstein which is the one we are talking about.  I must have been thinking about all of them for some reason. I forgot about Assignment Terror until I read the IMBd listing, then I remembered the movie. You are right Wolf Man, it is a matter of run time and distribution between "those" two.

Anyway, I still vote for the Franco film! LOL

Cheesy Flicks is an appropriate name, if ran by such rude Rats.  Luckily I never ran into this problem when I ordered my Chaney Jr. Frankenstein vs Dracula some years back (can't remember who from).  Hope you finally received the right movie Wolf Man.

Well, I ended up with two copies of the Chaney Jr film and since I was in Iraq and the whole mailing process was tricky I decided not to send them back.  I kind of hoped they would just send me the right one at no charge to make up for the mistake.  I did not ask them to do that but just "hoped" they would have an interest in customer satisfaction.  The Naschy film was only like 2 dollars and with shipping like five.  For five bucks they could have kept a customer happy.  I ended up ordereing four different Nascy movies while over there.  Gave me something fun to watch.  Curse of the Devil was one of the best he ever made.  I got the unrated Euro version, some gratuitous nudity.  The body count for that one was up like 11 or 12.

Finally got around to watching this flick on DVD with the double feature Brain of Blood (1971). DvF, I thought, was a fun drive-in movie that was cheesy and spooky. I loved seeing Lon Chaney Jr. anytime he was on screen. Yeah, the movie has its faults, and many of them, but if you turn your brain off and just relax, you'll have a good time.  At least I did!

This is my favorite "Bad" movie of all time! It's enjoyable for just for it's bizarre characters and special effects..ASSIGNMENT TERROR(as the Naschy version is really called) is also a grand time in its' own right..where else can you see a werewolf battle a mummy? :)

The Franco film, Dracula, Prisoner of Frankenstein, is a total mess! Characters come and go with no explanation and the script is barely coherent most of the time..really not worth the time in my view.

Yeah, it's not very good, but I did eventually get it on DVD and watched it again.  It's a shame this was Chaney's last movie and he didn't have any lines.
Since my original post returned from the grave all these years later, I kinda want to watch it again.  Was there a Blu Ray of this?

There are several blu ray releases of this, actually.

Perhaps it's just nostalgia, but I have a lot of affection for this thing. I was the perfect, impressionable age back then (FM covered it, FJA's in it, so you know it's awesome, right?). I've always been ambivalent about Lon, Jr.'s presence though: He's very hard to watch, yet it was good to see him working. Regardless, love it or hate it, DvF is anything but boring.

This one scared the bejesus out of me when I was a kid--and my older sister had a Halloween Party and one of her friends showed up as this version of the Monster-- his entire head made of wax-- I lost my mind and could not be calmed down.
As an adult-- it's one of my favorite bad movies.

Barlow

Not the highest quality horror movie of all time, but I loved it! I was a kid when I first saw it and I loved how Dracula's ring shot out fire. It's on my list of nostalgic favorites.
