How much would you have been willing to pay, if someone had?

Nowhere near probable FMV for one of these. I've overspent this Halloween Season and had to cut it cheap. My high bid was only $23 when I thought the condition was a bit low. I'm just glad I threw in a token bid, and the auction was ignored by everyone else.

Just curious, how much do you think FMV would be on a tan or white Palmer monster these days? (3" Palmer, not a Best Plastics Flat)

I'm gonna say FMV on a tan one is $20, since that's the only one I've ever seen sold. Never seen a white one for sale.

The only comp I can think of for a tan or white Palmer is the Kong with Fay Wray with regard to scarcity. Here's a listing for $575. https://www.ebay.com/itm/146719894540?_skw=palmer+monster+fay+wray&itmmeta=01K8M0N6W4Q39S45PJG509NNN2&hash=item22292fec0c:g:zGcAAOSwwytnsOoq&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA0FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dA6XzW6%2FBHbkyKyl0ugaHRD%2BfKajUcmYkLEoe4VaB4WXwZZQxrYckGtrd%2B5buD1zAKv0pcZmxNPsFTVkPy9m2dp4vSLE17NjbxpFagSzBUNo%2BIK07jX%2BQyWOaTjabzcfJxRCLKJxmgbD5R4klrYMGu%2BYSRZSg2omsKSqrpLd4lJvoxCDTbpWRQJx%2FbHYlH0QimRCcJOHYi6O6%2Fj0yQdC8fnjTzXYb4yOr%2FpDDSqVQjQ0LgCED%2FzDb6tL32RdEN06M%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5ru1IDFZg

I checked Sold Listings and 4 Fay Wrays (w/Kong) sold recently in the $300-$550 range.

Of course, the tan and white Palmers are much scarcer than the Fays so who knows?

The number of buyers who would give a ridiculous price for a tan or white must be very small so it would likely take a very long time to sell one for that ridiculous amount of money.

I have a red and yellow Creature. Would like to have the green and blue ones, But I won't pay anywhere near that price!

I had several duplicate Palmers from childhood. I sold them all and kept one of each for my collection, 2 of each of the 4 common colors. I kept the blue Creature and sold the green one. I've regretted selling the green Creature for years. I'm not selling this tan one unless stupid money comes calling.

I don't pay a lot for most toys anymore either. I look for deals and get lucky sometimes.

The Blues were the more expensive Palmers until the Butterscotch & White ones became better known.  Given the choice, I would have hung onto the Blue, too.

                                       FRANKENSTEIN - Figure - 3 in. - Palmer Plastics, 1960's - Color Variations

I just got another color of Frankenstein Palmer that I think deserves to be recognized as its own hue and not just a slightly different existing color.

FRANKENSTEIN - Figure - 3 in. - Palmer Plastics, 1960's - Yellow, Orange and Butterscotch (Tan)

The Orange Frankenstein in the middle is definitely not Yellow and certainly not Butterscotch (Tan).  Some will argue that these were a factory mistake and were intended to be Yellow.  Maybe.  I really don't care.  What they created was a definite school bus/Southern Pacific Railway truck Orange.  And that's what I'm calling it from now on.  (Arguments cheerfully accepted.)

Now, if I can just get a WHITE 3" Frankenstein from someone...

I don't think I've seen those last two colors on any Palmer UMs.

The Butterscotch (Tan) one was discussed here before, as was the White.  I think Toy Ranch agreed with me that the darker one looked like butterscotch in person.  Some collectors thought it looked more like a tan.

Quote from: horrorhunter on October 27, 2025, 01:33:03 PMI bought a tan Palmer Creature from an eBay seller (also called "butterscotch" by some).

I knew the tan and white Palmers are scarce so I'm always on the lookout for them. The listing pics made the figure look rough, like it was scuffed up, but upon inspecting it in person it just has a very small nick on the chest. Otherwise, it just has normal markings from the molding process and looks good in person. Even though it looked rough in the listing I couldn't pass it up for $20. I had never even seen a tan one offered for sale after several years of hunting and saved eBay searches.

Here's a pic showing a tan Kong in the dart gun bag.

An earlier post.
