I searched and scrolled, but couldn't find a thread soley devoted to this film. I just rewatched it on Tubi today. Several films from 1979 bring back lots of memories for me. I was engaged and got married later that year. My then-fiancee and I were always at the movies and drive-ins.

Nightwing was one of those drive-in nights.  I thought it was fairly good back then and saw it a few times on cable through the years. Watching it today on an HD print, I loved seeing the beautiful scenery and listening to Henry Mancini's lovely score.  The practical effects are still impressive to me and I actually like that the attacks are less instead of more. The characters are interesting and it's always a joy to see David Warner. I realize it's not realistic as far as bats are concerned. They've always gotten a bad rap. I just like to imagine this as vampire bats going wild as nature's revenge and/or the Native American powers invoked in the film.  Like Wolfen, I love that angle.

I'll take the plunge for the Blu-ray, even though I'm trying to slow down on purchases.

Any other fans of this movie?

I can remember seeing this at the drive-in way back when also..I havent seen it in years and I think it's time to give it a rewatch.
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

I think it's definitely much better than its reputation.
