Well after years of dreaming I finally have my 1:1 Karloff Frankenstein's Monster finished (actually I might make some small changes discussed below). I have dreamed of owning a lifesize Frank for years and years, and having finally saved enough $$$, that dream is now a reality. The head & arms are by Howard Senft- and I think it's one of the best Frank sculpts around. The amazing paintwork is by the one and only Jordu Schell, the boots came from Scott Fensterer, and the suit was sewn by Shelley J.
I purchased a mannequin body the same approximate size as Boris and started from there, although in hindsight - I probably could have just started with a big and tall size mannequin and it might have been easier. As it was, I spent hours gluing closed cell foam padding on the mannequin, and modifying it so that everything holds together securely on the base, but is still easily taken apart if need be. I built the base out of wood and urethane resin, and it has casters to allow for easy movement. The plaque is from an Etsy seller,..and I might dull that down somewhat in the future. The other change I'm considering is the jacket,..I feel like it should be longer and slightly "boxier" if that makes any sense. I also made two changes from 100% accuracy - the first is: I wanted green glass eyes, even though Karloff had brown eyes, the reason being that sometimes brown glass eyes look too dark and fake - the green shows more depth of iris color and I think it works well. Secondly, I know the left arm brace was held on by two strings or rubber bands, but that's one piece of the original makeup that never made sense to me, I opted to not have them. The boots were black resin, and I flocked them in a brown suede type of flocking, as it breaks up the monotony of all the black. I think I got the bulk of the padding correct, I still stare at it daily wondering if I did. The arms might need to be shortened a bit too, still considering that- but I'll see how it looks once I have another jacket sewn.
As you can see I also have a repo Frankenstein 3 sheet, which I made the frame for myself as well - with the pyramid bolt accents to match the those on the base of the figure.
I've enlosed some pictures here, and I hope everyone enjoys this project as much as I do!

Great figure!  :)

You just need to copy the .jpg link to your photos and use "insert image" thingy right above the word "more".

Sir Masksalot

Well, that is quite an arresting display. The 3-sheet is spectacular
and it looks like you had top talent at work on that figure. I advise
you not to lengthen the coat. It's supposed to look small on the Monster.

Thanks for the help Mike!.. and the kind words from everyone else so far!.. yeah the 3 sheet is spectacular,.. pretty sure there's only one original in existence -  and it was won at auction by Kirk Hammett of Metallica,.. who, as I'm sure everyone knows is an avid horror collector.

That wouldn't surprise me. Wish I had Metallica money to buy my toys with!  ;D
