At those prices, I will stick with the original 12" figures that I have.  They do look nice and would love to get them, but Sideshow priced me out along time ago.

The Metaluna Mutant is up for pre-order as of today, 9 January. $750.

They've also put up teasers for "Silver Screen" versions of all four, including the Mutant.

Very nice! :)  (Wish I was rich.)

My tax attorney loves to point out I'm in the upper middle class even though everyday feels like a struggle-- but I can tell you this-- the reason I have the money I do is I don't throw it away on stuff that is overpriced by about 5x.

These are nice but I would never pay these prices.
Pass.

Sir Masksalot

The Mutant looks great. I might get one just to pretend
it's a conceptual figure from Universal

Anton Phibes

I like it, but you're essentially asking for a week's pay for most folks. I agree....the prices have jumped the shark big time.

Monsters For Sale

Someone tell the producers of these things that we are toy collectors - not museum curators.

These are museum prices.  They may even be justified.  But, we are NOT setting up public attractions where we charge the public admission.  These aren't business investments.  We don't write off their cost as business expenses and recoup with ticket sales.  They are items of interested we add to our collections and home decor.

Maybe they should be required to read a newspaper once in a while.  Jobs are being eliminated, businesses are shutting down, and daily expenses are going up for the average person.  Hobby budgets are being squeezed for many, if not most.

These prices are unrealistic.

Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

Anton Phibes

You're right: it didn't. Instead of it being exciting, and a return to their thrilling days of yesteryear, it was a collective whooppee cushion sound....primarily due to price, lol. :-[

Dr.Terror

Sideshow knew what they were doing when they teased it too.   They knew fans would think affordable retail figures.

From Sideshow? I thoughht they only made high end collectibles, these days.

Yeah, because theyve been doing "premium" figures for years there seemed to be no reason to announce it. Folks assumed an announcement might have been a return to form with affordable stuff like when they started.

I wonder if a Wolfman will see the light of day given the issues Universal and Chaney's Estate had?

Dr.Terror

I think its possible, but requires a seperate license beyond just "Universal Monsters".    A Chaney Wolf is not in the current style guide,  they are pushing that top/bottom fanged version. There are current "Chaney" Wolfman items though.   The 14" doll is Chaney.   Its very confusing.
