Familiar as I am with the 1956 movie, I'd prefer a present-day sequel to a remake. There's every reason to believe
The Mole People could've survived that climactic earthquake of the original. With proper training, they might become
contributing members of our society ... maybe even run for office.

Well, Universal certainly looked at their film library and went down, down, down, down, down...........................

Though honestly, it's bizarre how we now live in a world where film from MST3K are being remade by major studios.

and i love it lol.

So someone actually said they wanted to remake a Universal Monster / Sci-Fi film and they came up with this one???

Next up - a remake of Curucu The Beast Of The Amazon!

Mole People seems very current day. Its all about government ruler weenies keeping everyone else under their heel, making them work primarily to support them and their lifestyles. Beating them half to death if they so much as dare to keep (eat) one of the mushrooms they harvest.  Then being burned to death if they are brought into the light. Seems contemporary to me.

Anything NOT from Marvel will be refreshing.

I hope the modern CGI effects don't make it wind up looking like it WAS just another Marvel movie.

(I don't have any reason to hope.)
