Quote from: Richard on April 05, 2022, 01:41:55 PMThough referred to as 1963, the FM card set was actually issued in July 1964 according to one reliable source. The Brooklyn based Rosan Company produced the infamous 1963 Terror Monster card series before they produced the set for FM. 1963 copyrights or datings were probably dragged along as the movie titles used consisted of the same familiar AIP monsters as before. But the FM card set hit the market in 1964.

As I'm sure you know, the 1965 Yearbook was actually published in 1964. Check out the July 1964 issue #29 Famous Monsters. The ad is also in there: on page 90. Also, observe how the ads are similar to the ones on the card backs.

Well that fully explains why it's the 1965 Famous Monsters Fear Book that contains an ad for a set with a 1963 copyright!

There's a lot of expertise on this board. At least one of us it seems has the particular insight to answer some particular question.

Thank you for that amazing info Richard. Does anybody know who actually owned Rosan Printing Corporation? what happened to them?
