I bought the Wolfshead cane (silver plated version)  - it was nice but not great - the details weren't really there, and the plating wasn't very good...it has bubbles in it where it's separated from the brass underneath.

I bought one that was chrome plated brass from another company whom I can't recall the name of, that was quite nice - closer in look to the Bob Burns cane head and more detailed than the Wolfshead cane.

I missed  out on Factory Entertainments original cane prop replica.  I kind of remember reading somewhere that some of the canes were damaged so the number of canes released was less than they wanted.

So I ordered this new release, altho I have some issues with it. First, they say this new one is based on the "hero" version, and not the "stunt" version which they say is the one in Bob Burns collection.  BUT the one in the film sure looks like Bob's cane head.  And their new prototype photos differ from the photo they say is of the "hero"   version - as noted above, the teeth aren't the same, and the ears on this new one look shorter, and the metal part that attaches to the wooden came is tapered, whereas the one in the film isn't.  And they show a "bump" at the top of the wooden cane (where it attaches to the tapered metal of the cane head) that is not in the film version.

I'll let you know my review of the finished product when it arrives.  Estimated shipping is now July-October.  Based on the estimated release dates versus actual release date - I'd say it's more likely than not to ship in October.

Doh!

Thanks for the update, MonsterBaker -- I have one on order, too! But where did you get the new release date? Their website currently states Summer 2022:

https://www.factoryent.com/The-Wolfman-Cane-Limited-Edition-Prop-Replica-p/408909.htm

Honestly, I almost forgot I ordered this, it's been so long.

They had sent out an email with new estimated shipping dates on all their pre-order products.  They said for the cane the estimated dates are July-October.

I had also on pre-order the Star Trek The Next Generation cricket phaser.  in that same email it said the new estimated shipping date as June-July, and mine was shipped July 1st.  It's now listed on their site as Back Ordered, tho that may be because there was an issue with the display box - they put a protective film over it to prevent scratching of the clear plastic top to the box, and that film was apparently applied before the paint on the box was fully dried and cured - so it left a sticky film on the paint that can't be removed.  So they're having new display cases made and shipped out - those won't be ready until Oct / Nov.

I keep an eye on estimated release dates versus their actual release dates.  Sometimes it's a month or 2 late, sometimes a lot more.

The initial release date for the Wolf Man cane was 2nd Quarter 2022.  That's past.  Then they changed it to Summer 2022.  But, as I said, their email that went out last month said it is now Jul-Oct.  So it could be shipped this month, but other items of theirs have been later than their earlier estimated release date.  So I'm thinking more like October (but will be happily surprised if it comes out earlier).

Yeah, my email with the updated release dates was in my spam folder as well.  same with the email from them saying the cricket phaser boxes were damaged and how to get a replacement.  Luckily I check my spam folder every few days and saw them in there.

Yep, got that email as well.  So if it does come in end of next week (around Sept. 16) it will likely be shipped out the middle of the following week (allowing for the weekend and credit card charges to go thru and be authorized and approved).  So with luck should indeed have it by the end of month.

Should be interesting to see how it looks.  The prototype in the photos doesn't quite look like the one in the film.  Their previous version looked quite close to the film version, tho I missed out on that one.
