For posterity, here's a comparison of the mold Draculus is based off of: Titans Return Mindwipe.

Also, Mike, here's the original 80's concept sketch of the Creature, and also Dracula.

Seems kinda cheesy that they are just repainting an old toy and calling it something else.

Had no idea they planned on making these back in the '80s!

;D  Yeah, I agree, it's a bit cheesy.  But it's pretty much accepted and expected in the fandom.  Whenever one character gets revealed its always "Well, we got _____.  You know _____ is coming in the near future..."  Can't really blame them too much with all the engineering and parts count that goes into most figures though.  Even in the 80's, different characters were just repaints/recolors of the same mold.

Right?  Looks like they also had plans back then for a Fly too!

I thought these were from the early 2000s, give or take.

According to the tfwiki links, it was proposed in the 80s as part of the original Generation 1 toyline.

I thought this little blurb was interesting:
"Oddly, the legal feasibility of this proposed series is highly questionable. While the character of Count Dracula dwells within the public domain, the Creature from the Black Lagoon is owned by Universal Studios, whereas the Fly is owned by 20th Century Fox. Generations identifies the toys as being these characters specifically, not parodies or approximations. Whether any actual attempts were made by Takara or Hasbro to obtain rights from the proper studios is unknown, though that fact may have contributed to the series' cancellation at the early concept art phase."

Haunted hearse

Since the transformed toy has those large bat wings, I don't think they needed the small bat wings. I think the character would have worked better without them. Possibly, instead of a removable cape, the cape could have transformed into bat wings.

I got my Draculus in today from Hasbro Pulse:

The box wasn't sealed or anything and packed poorly which caused some damage to the box but oh well. I still love the VHS style box. It came out really nice. Still debating if I should open the figure or leave it sealed.
