Christopher Plummer, who starred in The Sound of Music, won an Oscar for Beginners and was nominated for All the Money in the World and The Last Station, died peacefully today at his home in Connecticut, his family confirmed. Elaine Taylor, his wife and true best friend for 53 years, was by his side.

On 31 January 2009 I saw Christopher Plummer in a live simulcast of the Caesar and Cleopatra production from the Stratford Shakespearean Festival:

He was really, really good! He did a splendid job of portraying the common sense the older Julius Caesar would have had.

I think the fact he could do Shakespeare but also movies where he says things like

"give me the money, f&*%er."

Is there any Christopher Plummer action figures or models?
I am guessing his role in Star Trek 6 is the only thing that would have done.
Not the Emperor of the Universe from Star Crash.

Just watched him portraying Sherlock Holmes in "Murder By Decree".  He made a fine Holmes.

And James Mason made a dandy Watson.  "You smashed my pea!"

I think it's great that he kept working all through his life.  I always enjoyed him in anything he was in.  Watched WIND ACROSS THE EVERGLADES (1958) a few months back.  I remember that from a long time ago.  RIP to a wonderful actor.
