Unless you're into Hateful Eight (didn't really float my boat although I was surprised one was valued over $300!).

I'm glad nothing of interest for me in this 3rd Vault offerings.  After Christmas gift shopping in 2023, I want to put more cash into my savings account than spend it on gifts for family and goodies for me.

I am presently trying to curb my enthusiasm, but it ain't easy . These 4 are "planned" for release this year. Then.....what horrors await after these? How long will we be waiting, lol? I am digging these NECA classic monsters!

Doh!

Luckily for me, I'm only interested in that Vincent. The others look great, too, however.

Neca sure gets maximum use of their monster lines.  The Classic Monsters released in color versions, and blk/wht versions, and glow too.

Wondering if their Hammer line will lend itself to as many variations?  Sure they can release them as they wish, but I don't see a reason of the Hammer Horrors offered in B/W.  Color being a main marketing point on these new monster films.

The original monsters, never seen in color, so yes, color figures have a cool unique aspect.
Does it work the other way though?  Do you want a B/W version of Lee Dracula, or monster, the other Hammer line of monsters in gray scale...not sure Neca plans to release them this way, but knowing how they like, and should get as much bang for buck from each sculpt, what else could they do with this line.

Have there been any whispers of Neca doing a retro playcase?

Not that I've heard of. I'm sure they've considered it. Maybe they're waiting to see how the Monsterizer does?

I'm in for the monster from Beide of Frankenstein and Vincent Price (I'll get one for my daughter who is also a Price fan).

Maybe other actors could be coming.  Chaney, Chaney Jr, Karloff,  Lugosi would be welcome.

NECA mentioned when they started doing the UM they had 8 planned, all of which we've seen plus the chain chair Frank from Bride and some non Universal monsters.  It may take them a bit to get prototypes finished and licenses cleared if they are doing new characters.  See how long it took to release Remco Drac after original Drac? If we want anything else Lugosi, it may take a while.

I would love to see Ultimate versions of some of my favorite lesser knowns. Thing is, "lesser knowns" by way of their title just don't fly off the shelves. Werewolf of London, Kharis Mummy, Son of Dracula, Carradine Dracula, The Creeper (Rondo Hatton), and many others would look amazing. Unfortunately, the sad reality is: they might not be stellar seller fellers.

A buddy of mine sold through his Invisible Man and Phantom of the Operas rather quickly. The reason: he ordered half as many as he did of Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, Mummy, Creature and Bride.

He sold through Nosferatu, but for the same reason. He ordered half the amount. His logic was that the average joe doesn't know Nosferatu. :'(

TheMadScientist

Yeah, as much as I'd like Ultimate versions of lesser-known characters, I do wonder how well they'd sell. I think enough people are familiar with the main 8 characters that there's appeal there (even if they haven't seen the movies they're still iconic characters that your average Joe might pick up, especially if they're a horror fan). I hope we get more from monsters stuff NECA though, even if it's just stuff outside of their Ultimate line.

Lazarus

If they spin off into just a line of old horror characters I'm fine with that.  I'd love for them to do a March Mr. Hyde or the original Fly.

I wonder what color skintone the monster will have in the Bride Of Frankenstein version - looked greenish on the original release - the photo above looks more fleshtone.

Will probably be the same as the '31 Frank figure, for consistency.
