Looks good, but I'm sticking to the B&W versions of these.

Is there a b/w Creature?

Not yet, I don't think. I was under the impression that all (or most) will be getting B&W versions. Besides, I already have the color 12" Mondo so there's that.

Yes, there is a planned B&W version of the Creature.  Oddly, there are currently no planned B&W versions of The Invisible Man and Phantom Of The Opera.

NECA stated not all the figures will be getting B/W variants.  They probably think less popular characters like Phantom or Invisible Man won't sell as good.

Well, I'm not going to mix and match my collection of these so will be skipping any that are only offered in color. As I've stated before, I already have a nice set of the Sideshow ones from decades ago.

Just paint them over. It can be done with a little bit of time and effort.

Nah, but thanks for the thought! Even as a kid building models, my painting skills were much lacking. And I don't want to practice on $40 figures.

I'm fine with the Sideshow color copies.

My apologies if this has already been posted (I didn't see it) but, Lootcrate/NECA is doing throwback versions of the Burger King kid's meal UM toys in their new Loot Fright crates. First up is Frankenstein:

Dracula, Wolfman and Creature to follow in the coming releases. I'm stoked for this as the BK toys were what got me into collecting Monsters.

How does Lootcrate work?  Can you just order individual crates (say I only want the Frankenstein figure) or is it some kind of subscription service, where they charge you $X amount each month and send different things each month or so?

I'd be interested in getting all  4 "Burger King style figures, but wouldn't like to get other things I don't want.

You have to buy the whole crate, and you usually get a t-shirt and a couple of other things you don't want. You can buy just 1 crate, but it doesn't exactly say which one you are getting, unless you're supposed to figure it's the Frankenstein.

You can buy just one crate or multiple crates up front. It's not really a "subscription" anymore from what I can tell. I ordered the first one and it came to about $46 which for the figure, the t-shirt and whatever else isn't too bad. As Anton stated the figures will probably pop up on eBay but then you run the risk of scalper prices.

It does say "Buy This Crate", so you should get the one pictured. I'm gonna try for the Creature. Should display nicely with the original.

I figured you would. I'll try and post here when each new preorder goes up.
