I don't own the Mondo one, but from photos I've seen I think the Neca one looks better.

Anton Phibes

Apples and oranges with regards to size. One is 7 inches, or 1/12 scale. One is 1.6 scale, 1nd 12 inches. However, the amount of the detail in the NECA might very well give Mondo a run for their money were they at the same scale.

Dr.Terror

Body looks great,  heads look really off.
Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

You know, I would love it if Neca would do a Psycho set. They could use their Cryptkeeper body for Mrs. Bates and thrown a soft goods dress and some shoes on it. Use the same soft goods dress for Norman. Trevor Grove could nail the likenesses. I know its wishful thinking.

You will all have to forgive me. That Mezco roto plush Mrs. Bates getting cancelled still has me waking up in cold sweats from time to time, lol.

Woof! Cheaper that the Mondo, though.

Very, very different type of product though.

I wonder what Super 7's Super Cyborg 14 inch Creature From The Black Lagoon figure will look like?

I appreciate anyone making anything of the Universal Monsters. But the Creature from the Black Lagoon makes ZERO sense as a Super Cyborg figure. Frankenstein, okay. Creature absolutely not. Maybe they're doing something completely different than their previously released cyborg figures but if so I'm not sure why they'd call it Super Cyborg.

I know Super 7's origins are in Japanese vinyl but their attempts to repeatedly release Universal Monster figures with a Japanese theme is bizarre and senseless. Godzilla, yes. But there is no reason to repeatedly release otherwise good looking Universal Monster shirts with Japanese writing all over them or action figures cardbacks in Japanese. I think they're missing on a lot lately when there are plenty of other great roads they could go down with the license.

I like the sculpt, not so much the paint apps. Seems a bit too much gold on the body, and the lips are way too red for my taste. Maybe they will tone these down in the finished product , they did fix the wolfman for the better. Looks like they went with the Life magazine color photos. I know Im whinning, but I will still support NECA by buying this, and the movable jaw is a cool idea.

I was looking at the other ones and I may be saving myself $125.  :(

Only one I can think of.

Are there 2 heads, or 3 heads? 3 sets of hands, or 4? I don't know if you're supposed to count the ones on the figure.

I believe the head on the body counts towards the items in package, so Creature has 3 heads.

Doh!

I feel your pain on Mrs. Bates -- I had TWO of them on order!

I do like the paintjob.  With color versions based on b&w movies, it's often impossible to get a color figure that works for everyone.  Frankenstein...green skin works for me even tho the makeup color was "sky grey."  The creature...bright red lips...nit for me, but for years that's how it's been seen due to some promotional color photos.  I never liked the paint job done for the box art for the Horizon Creature model kit.  With models you can paint then anyway you like.  But with toys for big boys and the mass market they do the best they can and sometimes they even have to deal with studio interference...thank goodness NECAs Frankenstein didn't have that green jacket!!

As to Super 7s Super Cyborg Creature, we'll have to wait to see what it is.  I think Monsters In Motions description makes it sound like Super 7s Visible Creature. They might have just copied and pasted that models description into the Super Cyborg description.  Time will tell what it is.

That blurb was generated by MoM to describe the image that is labeled "Not For Public Release" on S7's wholesale site.

Hmmmmm...got to wonder if it is a toy version of their Visible Creature model kit.

Just curious why everyone hates on the red lips so much?

They don't really bother me, even though I do prefer non-red lips.  The LIFE color photos always looked awesome to me.
