The Cantankerous Collector

I should finally be getting my Neca b&w Mummies I ordered from Entertainment Earth many moons ago...sheesh. I received the accessory set this past week. I wonder if they'll end up doing this set in the b&w scheme also?

I ordered from BBTS.  They've been getting them later than other online retailers, so I don't expect to have it in my hands until the beginning of 2023.

Chaney Phantom fully revealed! 5 heads!!!!

Looks great, but also doesn't appear that we'll be getting them for awhile unfortunately. Amok Time has expected release date in September 2023, and BBTS says August 2023.

It's a looking wait.  Hate the material the cape is made of.   They might change it by the time it's released.  The head sculpts look a bit off to me.

1,000 faces = 5 head sculpts.  Remember this!  :D

The resting/serious face is the best sculpt.  I'm honestly surprised they didn't save some of these for a Red Death figure.  I hope we get one.

Really looking snazzy and five heads?! Whoa!!

I always feel the color paint apps always throw these head sculpts off but Trevor Grove always shares photos (on Facebook) of his unpainted head sculpts and they are indeed phenomenal.

Doh!

Not a huge fan of the cape, either, but love the heads! I'll wait for the B&W version, however.

Would have liked a true mask, instead of a head underneath it.
A mask that the figure could don or not.  I think a different paint scheme could better serve the sculpt
Very exciting to see, and looking forward to adding to my collection.

The Phantom as The Red Death, is a must for a next figure.  They could release this figure in color, blk/wht, how about green tinted b/w version of the regular Phantom figs.  On the Death fig they could release a color and b/w versions, and perhaps vibrant  colored version to represent the early color tinted process used in the film...just wishing & wanting!

I had a good feeling they were going to give him a head based off of the Eastman House "Unmasking Scene" expression.
Funny to note (as I've probably mentioned a thousand times) that this strangely wasn't what audiences originally saw. But over time it's become more iconic than what they actually did see, in 1925.

(Oh, and I love that we have his snorkel. First time I think there's ever been an accessory of that.)

This is why I love the 12 inch Sideshow figure. It's honestly a fun thing to put on and remove a mask from a figure. Glad to see someone else agrees.

I guess the closed hand is for fake bomb throwing.  ;D
