Doh!

This is good timing: I just rewatched the movie over the weekend. I have Sideshow's smoking jacket version from 20 years ago so don't mind him in his suit this time around. That hollow head is wicked creepy! Will order the B&W once available.

So...

When is the Frankenstein Body Knocker scheduled to come out?

While playing with the Sideshow toys, I always had a hard time accepting the fact the Invisible Man could just go anywhere in his pajamas.  20 years later, and that is what society has become.   :-X  And the way his arm was posed, sticking out, was really annoying too.  He was my problematic Sideshow monster.  I would have loved a non-smoking jacket Invisible Man back in the day.  Then when I bought the 12", and he wasn't in his pajamas, but I was no longer playing with them, I wanted his pajamas back.  I would have settled for a fabric smoking jacket in this set.  Happy medium.   ;D

NECA released a look at the box for Dracula. Pretty much what you'd expect based on the other ones, but looks good:

Went by my local Target today, and there was a bunch of new NECA stuff too.

No new NECA stuff at my Target.

Of course we get my LEAST favorite Dracula poster on this one, but it's what I was expecting.  Still, was kinda hoping someone would change it up.  So many good Dracula posters.  This is not one of them.

Of course Neca would use that boring poster art. Instead of this......
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Count Zachula

The Drac packaging will look nice next to the Frankenstein one, the big heads match.
Also the 3rd "snarling" Bela head still looks off to me.

Someone at Universal keeps pawning off these big head posters as the "main" art, and it needs to stop.  Problem is now they have adopted the typography from said posters and are using it in the style guide as an option for companies as opposed to the 1991 logos.  Started with Super 7.  I don't mind this typography.  (I actually prefer the 1991 logos all around.)  But I do mind these posters.  Rant done.   :-X

I prefer the "big head" poster over the generic looking Dracula poster.  With that one people might say, "PASS - I want a Lugosi figure not a generic one...but...does it also include a figure of the male victim seen in the artwork??"

I remember when Aurora would have to change their box art when people would complain that the models didn't look like the box art.  They even had to paint out a T-rex seen in the boxart on the prehistoric cave model kit because some people thought it included a T-rex figure.

If the head actually looked like Dracula or Bela for that matter, then maybe...  But it doesn't.  Never has.  Never will.  I remember first seeing this art as a kid in 1999 on the new VHS and DVD boxes and thinking, "WTF is this?  This isn't Dracula.  It looks horrible."  I refuse to buy anything with that poster art as a result.  Sideshow Drac immediately got ripped out of the package and the box got tossed.  Now, I have to buy one of these and keep it in the package, because that's what I'm doing with this line, but I *HATE* that I am going to do that.  This artwork haunts me.  "Dracula looks like a girl." - Me in '99.

If you want a head poster, the head should look like this:

You could print the poster art that you liked glue it on top of the box.

I did something like that with the Beast Of Blood dvd, printing out the entire full figure as seen on the movie poster and putting it on top of the cropped image on the dvd cover.

Found Black and White Mummy at my Target. There were 3 of them, and also one gremlin and 2 evil dead figures.
It was $32.99. Cancelled my EE preorder.

It's an option for sure.  But I just wish someone would retire this poster for good.  There are such better options for these films than the floating heads, all of which are my least favorite poster designs.  I don't know why.  Could be because we went from the beautiful Classic Collection VHS artwork to these posters on the home video options, and I hated losing the Classic Collection art, as they were some of my favorite childhood images during the Halloween season each year.

Good news is when they release Dracula (London), they'll have to use a new poster!   ;D
