The fact that we are discussing minutia about the cape shows me one thing: we are spoiled, lol. This is a good era of Universal Monsters product. Great sculpts, nice presentations, etc. My main quibble with collecting these days is: price point of the product. Things that used to be an impulse buy (like the Mummy accessory set) now actually have to be "considered" before getting. $50 for a couple pieces of plastic and cardboard isn't exactly casually cheap. At least not to me.

However, I think that's a sign of the times more than "corporate price gouging". The dollar doesn't have as much power as it used to.

I will support NECA's Universal Monsters product as whole hog as I can.

I really want to see Werewolf of London, Kharis (Chaney), Dracula's Daughter, and I surely would love (but we will never see) The Mad Ghoul.

Well, as The Wolf Man showed us, the photos of the prototype had a mustache, and the final product did not.

So it's possible that when the figure is released, the cape will be all black and shorter than the grey lined London cape.

Not the best example as the Wolf Man was just a paint change, not a newly molded piece. (I don't see them making two different cape pieces, but maybe they'll surprise us? Hope for the best, but expect the worst, right?  ;D)

I hope they abandon the all back cape entirely.  Its not even something fans notice in the film until its pointed out.     Ive never heard anyone ask for it either.     Neca has to realize Uni Monsters are not like Myers and ither horror characters.   Fans dont care about minor differences in a scene like Myers mask.     If thats the case we'll get 10 different Bride Karloffs,  or the scene where Glenns neck bolt pops off..etc...

I dunno...I think most people think of Dracula with a cape, otherwise there wouldn't be all these generic Dracula (vampire) costumes with capes.

As to the price...yeah, they're expensive, but they are VERY detailed sculptures, and they do have to pay licenses to the actor's estates and to Universal.  They run about $35-$40 each.  Super7 figures are $20, a LOT smaller and not that detailed at all.  So really quite a bargain, I think.

I didnt mean lose the cape entirely.
When people think Lugosi Dracula they think red or silver lined cape.   Not all black. Even SS 8" Drac based on an all black pose  had a lined cape. The Trans/London thing is weird because he wore the medallion in both areas.

Yeah, it's an exciting time to be a Universal Monsters fan imo. I'll probably cave and buy the TMNT x Universal Monsters crossover figures at some point too.

Some ESTY people might make screen accurate capes to buy.

I've been getting them.  The first 2 are HUGE and absolutely beautiful figures.

Found both the glowing Mummy and the Wolf Man on and end-cap by the Action Figures at Target tonight. Definitely didn't look finished, but they'd put a couple other Neca horror figures there. There were SKU's on the pegs for both figures but not one for Frank. Hope yo see him soon.

I also hope that at this time next year we'll be getting glow versions of Drac, Invisible Man and the Creature.

I was a little hesitant at first because Leo as the Hunchback just seemed so odd (I'd much rather have the same Turtle/monster pairings as the 90s figures. That said, I can kinda see how it would be difficult to do a Wolfman/Ninja Turtle mashup in a less cartoony figure. I've read a lot of rumors that they'll do a Shredder/Dracula figure, so I wonder if they'll work Wolfman and Creature in as well somehow.

Here's an article I did for the RUE MORGUE site on NECA's new REMCO-styled Retro Glow-in-the-Dark Universal Monsters figures.

I love the vintage REMCO Mini Monsters. They were my favourite toys as a kid, and I have a near complete still-carded set (except for The Mummy, who was always seemingly more difficult to find). So, I was happy to be able to open up these larger-sized NECA figures and photograph them.

Here are some photos I took for my RUE MORGUE article on the new NECA Remco-inspired 7-inch scaled Universal Monster figures:

If Super7 had done these instead, I'd be all over them.
