My greatest collector dream was someone to make a 3.75" scale Rita. It's funny that it's probably more likely that NECA makes a 7" scale Rita.

Would it be possible to commission someone to make that for you? I'm sure there's boat collector's forums and such.

It's pretty unlikely any company is going to manufacture one of these for any Creature action figures (I mean, they'd have to make not only the ship, but Captain Lucas, a Julie Adams figure, Richard Calson, etc to go with it all.  And the likelihood of that is probably nil.

Maybe these already is a Rita ship repo out these in that scale.  There are plenty of model ships and model ship makes and maybe that particular ship has already been made.  Kind of like people wanting someone to make a replica's of Jason Vorhees mask. only to find out that it was just an off the shelf hockey mask.

Too bad Marx or MPC never made a Creature Playset back in the playset heyday (1950s/1960s).

I've had an idea for a custom CFTBL Playset for years but just never got around to it. There's already a great Creature figure easily obtainable- the Palmer.



Maybe use a Marx Bathing Beauty for Kay, a couple of Palmer SCUBA figures for David and Mark, a pirate-type figure for Captain Lucas, some other human figures and MPC alligators to fill out the set. A mostly-water plastic playmat in the vein of the MPC pirate sets could be used for the lagoon. Terrain pieces like the Marx cave and rock arch formations could be used for the grotto. Lots of Marx trees and ferns for vegetation, and some plastic logs to block the Rita. Finding a good plastic Rita might be a task. It wouldn't be to exact scale, or it wouldn't fit in the box, but in the playset tradition it could be somewhat smaller than correct scale. Then just draw up a custom playset box using movie poster art as a theme and you're set.

I've seen some attempts at custom Creature sets but they fell short in my opinion. They were too small and didn't capture the feel of the movie. Custom playsets require a lot of work which is why I haven't attempted this one. Maybe someday...

Could the Mutant have come with any accessories? I haven't seen the film in a while so I can't remember if there's anything they could give to him.  I just remember him running amok and then getting killed.

It looks like this is only a prototype. I imagine the final product will come with something.

I hope you're right, but the official stock pic for solicits only shows an optional head with a brain injury. I've never known them to release the official solicit pic and then add something after with the monster offerings, but only The shadow Knows!

It only happened with the London After Midnight figure, the stock image shows only a plastic cloak, but later an alternate cloth cape was included.
