Mine arrived today, looks great! For some reason this one came with a very basic stand for the figure

Ah, that makes sense. I was wondering why the other figures didn't have one.

Lazarus

Crate arrived.  Wolfie, a Laughton style  Hunchback shirt (very surprising), and a Nosferatu tote bag that is pretty great.  Nothing else in mine.  I was hoping for a pin of the cane or something.

But the bag is cool and the shirt is neat!

It seems very quiet these days from NECA with regards to Monster offerings. Anyone heard anything about Hammer, Vincent Price, or if the Universal Monsters license is now finished?

Nothing yet, VP and Hammer Drac are still coming, I assume. Also SDCC is right around the corner, so hoping we get some new reveals then. Bride version of Frank with chair drops in June or July I think.

Mcfly22

Sounds like the end maybe near .
Was hoping for as many variants as the TMNT or predator line

I am not sure where the line will go from here, but I am thankful for what we did get.
The lack of announcements for any further releases of the Universal line is probably an indicator that they are done with this and plan on focusing on Hammer and Price this year. That doesn't mean we won't get further sets in the future but we can cross our fingers.

The list of possible releases are short, IMHO. They might not want to try a line of what they consider mid level monsters.

The most likely could be
Son of Frankenstein Monster
Son of Frankenstein Igor
Mummy Ardeth Bey
Mummy - Kharis
Frankenstein's Monster - Chaney, Lugosi or Strange heads
Revenge of the Creature
Dracula - Renfield

Possible figures
Dracula's Daughter
Frankenstein Doctor Frankenstein
Bride of Frankenstein Doctor Pretorius
Werewolf of London
Son of Dracula
Dracula - Carradine
White Zombie - Murder LeGendre
The Wolfman - Bela or Maleva

I think Sideshow spoiled me. They held the license for so long, and went deep. When a new company doesnt....I am taken by surprise. I reckon DST would be behind Sideshow in this arena.

If I could pick one from this list, and only one....it would've been Werewolf of London. I would love to see him get the Ultimate Treatment.

Kharis would've been nice too.

I'd love to see all of them as well, but since we've had no word on anything new coming, I have a feeling they'll stop the Universal figures after the Bride OF Frankenstein Karloff figure.

This is my feeling (or dread) also.

Lazarus

I thought we'd at the very least get a Son of Frankenstein version of the monster or an Ardeth Bey.

They have likenesses that would let them do a few more figures, but if they don't think they're worth it, then I guess that's that.  I'd have liked a Van Helsing or a Renfield, myself.

Universalrocks

I wonder what the terms of their license is? With a license does a company have full access to all the characters,or can they pick and choose? I see that on Wolf Man, Phantom and Lugosi that they had to also get the rights from the relatives. But on the Bride her likeness is licensed through the Motion Picture and Television Fund, but is not even credited on the box. I think I read somewhere (I think it was posted in a forum here) that Trick or Treat studios only had theirs for three years. How long do they get to have the license? Super 7 seems to have had it for a while.

If anyone in the US wants the bag and t-shirt, mine are up for grabs. Shirt is size XL. Just drop me a message and it's yours.
