But then, I'm in my 30's and don't demand that every piece of Uni Monster merch be based on a 100 year old movie...

Most don't but the late 90s/early 2000s universal style guide Dracula the BK toy is based on is quite possibly the worst depiction of him ever.

Must have taken about 5 minutes to sculpt the new head, if that.

It's actually a pretty nice scale up of the head for the old BK toy.  I knew what it was supposed to be immediately.  I'm pretty excited about this.

Someone who understands LootCrate help me out. Did I already miss the window to order the crate that includes Frankenstein?

Sadly, I think so.  They have an option for 3 crates, so if you order now you'll be able to get Drac, Wolfman and Creech.

Thank you. I'm a relatively young guy and I'm pretty savvy with figuring stuff out but LootCrate makes me feel like how my grandpa must feel when I'm trying to show him how to add tickets to his Apple wallet. I just don't get it. I'm not dealing with eBay people so I suppose I'll take a pass on these.

I'm amazed at just how close Neca gets to a perfect revisit  of the original Remco figures with just a repaint in most cases. And their Bk lootcrates are perfect exclusives as the majority may "remember" them but wouldn't really want to buy them. I think they're great hokey renditions that would fit right into UM's more cheesy offerings or a The Munsters display. But they're not for everyone. My main gripe is having to cut open the baggies to be able to display them so I suppose that would encourage buying two. Not sure I love them THAT much lol.

MonsterBaker666

If they were just repaint /different color plastic  (transparent green for Frankie's head and hands and likely also for The Ceature) I might go for them.  I have 2 sets (one sealed, one open) for the Original BK toys so there is that nostalgic feel, but the ugly Dracula head sculpt and sealed bags...I'm gointgto pass.

Why are people concerned about opening modern toys?      The entire point of leaving vintage toys boxed is the lack of packaged examples. Thats why they go up in value.    There will never be a shortage of MIP modern toys with 75% of collectors leaving stuff in box.

Just open the damn things and enjoy them.

I leave some things in the box. Not for any other reason than I am out of space though, lol. Which kind of makes me wonder why I am still buying any of these doo dads at all,lol

For me a lot of it comes down to aesthetics. A lot of the packaging today is a work of art in itself. If I like the way it looks I'll leave it. The NECA Remco figures I left carded because my vintage GITD set is still sealed on the same cards, I just love how they look. These NECA BK figures I will most likely open because it's just a plastic bag.

I understand leaving things in unique packaging  with unique artwork sealed, but not the Necas.   Like the 12" SS its just poster art you can print yourself as a backdrop.       Esp realistic, super articulated detailed figures.    Its like leaving a race car on a trailer.

I dont mean leaving some things boxed,  or opening but displaying them boxed etc...  Im referring to collectors that open nothing they buy.    I have to open and play with stuff.

Ive lost count of the "Collection tour videos" full of boxed modern action figures 9n youtube.     What fun is that?

I'd like the boxes better if they were made to be flattened out and used as backdrops for displaying loose figures.

Most packaging is such a waste of precious space.

A lot of NECA stuff does go up in value, but it may take a few years. I've been buying 2 of every figure, leaving one in the box. It's an investment of sorts. But the BK ones, I'm only getting one of each and will take out the packaging.
