Got my frankenstein accessory set today from amok time. Just a word of friendly warning, it is a bit of a booger to put together. Instructions are a bit vague, as they do not show close up of any parts and parts are not numbered as in the instuction photos. The harderst part is snaping the table legs into the base, be very careful as they might break on you. I had to pull up photos of it on line to figure some of it out. Just hold your tongue the right way when snapping the legs into the base it worked for me. Lol.

For people who have ordered from BBTS, is "collector" packaging all that different than standard? Was going to preoder the Dracula figure, and wasn't sure if it was worth the extra $3.

Didn't you read the descriptions?

Collector's Grade

Collector's Grade is for the discerning collector who wants the item's packaging to be near to mint as possible. We go through a rigorous process to find Collector's Grade items. Each item is inspected, graded, and verified by two people before being accepted. Next, each item is wrapped in a plastic bag to prevent any future scuffing or scratching and placed in a custom-made box which is sized to fit the product. This box is then sealed, labeled, and carefully stored in our warehouse. When the item is shipped, we securely pack it in another box providing additional protection.

Doh!

I order from BBTS all the time and have never splurged for the Collector packaging. Standard has always sufficed for me, and I've had zero problems with the quality when it arrives. Good luck, regardless!

I also order from BBTS and wait because of the $4 shipping.  Never bought "Collector Grade" and never got anything that didn't look case fresh and just fine when it arrived.

By the way, not sure if anyone's said this yet but.... they teased The Phantom a bit ago.

I'm honestly super happy to see this, as I remember someone (no clue who) on here saying they were no longer going to merchandise the "Chaney Phantom", for some reason. So glad to see it isn't true.

Why do you have to wait and how long do you have to wait to get the $4 shipping?

Among the various toy stores, they seem to receive things last.  I don't know why.  Times vary too much to estimate - and I don't keep track.

I read it. I was mainly wondering how much difference there is between their standard and collector packaging in reality. Sounds like standard packaging is just fine for me though.

I remember someone (no clue who) on here saying they were no longer going to merchandise the "Chaney Phantom", for some reason. So glad to see it isn't true.

Pretty sure nobody ever said that.  During the Chaney lawsuit and in the years after the settlement, there was discussion about how Universal was sidelining the Phantom entirely, replacing him with the Invisible Man (Horrified), and there were other discussions about using Rains instead of Chaney (Funko Mystery Minis).  It's become clear now what has happened.  Chaney has pulled a Lugosi.

Universal and companies doing things on the cheaper side would prefer to avoid all Chaney characters when it comes to an official Universal Monsters line.  Because a Chaney character is gonna be added cash on top of Universal's licensing fee.  But... GREAT NEWS!  These companies can NOW just license Phantom and Wolf Man through Chaney directly if they want those characters; there's no need for a Universal license anymore!

But if you want to have an "ultimate" or "high-end" line like NECA wants, you're still gonna want to have a Chaney license and a Universal license together.

The Chaney situation is now the same as Lugosi, whereas, in the past, it wasn't.  And it appears Chaney and Lugosi can now license out every character played by their family members regardless of who owns the makeup and character designs.
