Help Identifying a Movie?

I've been thinking about a movie where almost everyone has died.  One survivor (the only one?) has selected a residential block to live in.

He spends his days cleaning out all the houses on that block - removing bodies and tidying up.  His chosen block is looking almost normal.

The title escapes me.  It can't be that old.  Any clue?

Can you recall a certain decade?
There is a film called: I think we're Alone now(2018) Similar plot.
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

I was guessing late '80's or later.  Sounds like a 90's/early 2000 to me.

It's been bugging me all morning.

The only one I came up with, is, I Think we're Alone now(2018). Other than that, I got nothing.

Really?! Cool! You are welcome.

Of course, I remember it imperfectly, but - That's the one.

Ok I have one... back in the mid 80s I was flipping through channels and I came across some kind of vampire movie.
It featured a young man as a good vampire who was friends and/or romantically involved with the film's heroine.
This was long before the movie Buffy came out so it was longer still before Angel.
The only scene I recall before having to shut the tv off to help with groceries etc. was the two main characters being led into a church by a sympathetic older man (standard mentor/church pastor idk) the older man makes a formal statement of welcome to the vampire who turns to the girl and says that a vampire can't enter a church without permission
I have no idea who was in it or what it was called.
Any help?
Mrs, Niles:two leading men are fighting over me right now!

This sounds like a scene from the plot of SUBSPECIES(1991) a Full Moon Studios film.
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."
