You mean "rabbit ears"? I think my TV only has cable connections.

Pretty sure the new rabbit ears have a 75 ohm connection.  No screwdrivers and wires to deal with.

Oh! Well, I haven't seen any in 40 years.  ;D

I know it is short notice but an Indoor antenna like this installed in the attic works. I bought an outdoor one and ran a cable over to my cable box and plugged it into where the old cable company input was. Using a smart TV, I scanned for channels and now I pick up 40 plus free channels.

I would first google ME TV and see if there is a station broadcasting within a hundred miles of where you live. If it is fairly close ( within 30 miles) you might be able to use a $30 plug in antenna.

I have an attic antenna, and I get good MeTV reception 75% percent of the time; which basically means it comes in crystal clear when Collectors Call features the guy with the world's largest guitar pick or Brady Bunch collection, but it won't come in at all when the Dr. Who collector is on. >:( But, I'm happy to say, that it came in great tonight for the CFTBL episode!  :)

The Creature episode was so much and cool to see such a neat-o collection.

Yeah, it was a fun show and Mr Strothe has a great collection although his over-reactions to everything
got rather cringey. Why didn't they feature the appraiser and his awesome Creature collection instead?

Yeah, I asked myself that same question.

They waste time that could be spent showing highlights of smaller rare items, and this episode was no exception. I would have loved a closer look at the other stuff in the cases, but I was impressed with the items they did feature. That Aurora Creature head was incredible and the full size one was beautiful.
As for the trade, I agree that he should have kept the original art for the cover of the magazine considering the other items were mass produced but there is only one painting. His thinking was that he could possibly find the Green Pez dispenser and Flicker ring elsewhere, and I think if the other guy had brought one more great item the collector needed it would have been a go.

I enjoyed the episode, but I really wish they spent more time showing the collection in more depth, and not worrying about the "hook" of the show. I can't imagine that angle actuallly gets people to watch it who would otherwise not be interested in collectibles.

I can appreciate Strothe's enthusiasm, but I do wish he'd dialed it back. You never know, the producers may have egged him on to go over the top. These type of shows often like to make people into "characters" to livenn things up. The Toys That Made Us for instance usually picks one person to come across as really, really out there.

The local METV channel 8ncentral fl had technical difficulties during the broadcast.  Kept pixilating, the the picture went black, then nothing.  So only the first segment and wrapup were ok.

This show has been off the air for several weeks. I noticed their Halloween special was up while
channel-surfing last night. Thankfully, the featured collector is another classic monster fan >

I missed the first few minutes but I think this Sideshow Bride was the first item to come up for appraisal >

Next came these two X-plus limited editions >

Collector was especially fond of this goth version of Barbie.
They referred to it as "Queen of the Dark Forest" >

The appraiser offered her a complete set of Remco Universal Monsters in trade for it >

After much hemming and hawing she turned him down, citing her feminist leanings.

I keep missing this show. I think the last one was Creature from the Black Lagoon collection.

Just on a whim, I caught it. I, too, was surprised that he was only offering loose Remco figures for her limited edition Dark Forest Barbie. But I was even more SURPRISED that, as he was pointing out the figures, he mixed up Dracula and Phantom of the Opera!!! Finally, I was also surprised that he only appraised her entire collection at 20K??? If that is true, I'm guessing she lost a lot of money on it, and she's DEEP in the red!!! :o :o :o

(However, to be fair, you would have to pay me to take any of those Funko POP figures).  ;D ;D ;D
