Mike...In 3-D!

I finished reading it for the first time earlier this week and followed it up with a re-watch of Hellraiser. I have to say, and this may be blasphemous, the movie lost some of its shine. While nothing can compare to how awesome Doug Bradley is as Pinhead, the book delivers a more coherent story, in my opinion.

Has anyone else read it?  How do you feel the movies stacks up against it?

I read the book several years ago and enjoyed it more than the movie.  Although the movie had it's merits where the book didn't, I enjoyed the details the book provided.  When the Scarlett Gospels came out in 2015 I read that as well and enjoyed it.  I didn't consider it a sequel of The Hellbound Heart, which it was, but more of a stand-alone story.  However, Hellbound Heart was much better in my humble opinion.
