Monsters For Sale

I want to find a YELLOW Mark Frankenstein.  I've only ever seen one in person, but it was in a complete set of the 5" figures.  The set was in a secondhand store and the owner seemed to think they should be listed as priceless antiques.

That was many years ago and I was beginning to think I had misremembered the actual color until I saw this:

                                                             Phantom - Marx - YELLOW

If there is Yellow Marx Phantom out there, it's likely that a Yellow Marx Frankenstein is knocking around, too.

Anybody here able to help me?

In the Mold-A-Rama collecting universe, the collectors, or as they call themselves "Moldies" refer to this as the "yellow-bellied" Frankenstein.

On a completely different note: Was that picture of the group of Phantoms taken at the Marx Nazi convention on planet Bizarro?

I say on the planet Bizarro for 2 specific reasons-can you guess why?

Fun Fact: Attendees were known as "Marxis!"

I know-I have too much time on my hands-stuck on couch after knee operation.

Regarding that photo, did Marx really make that many colors? I know that the Uncle Milltie set I have could be painted. I prefer leaving mine unpainted, because I like them as glow in the dark.

Marx made the original Orange and Blue (and maybe  slight variations of those.)

One set was made in light tan and packed in a box with paints and brushes.,  Than Uncle Milltie made the whie, glow-in-the-dark figures that were packaged on individual cards.

As far as I know, all the others were made in Mexico (with and without names and dates on their bottoms) after the original molds were sold off.  So they are unofficial but genuine.  Some of the Mexican ones were made with ill-fitting molds and have a lot of flash that escape through the cracks.

Besides the original 6" figures, their was a crude 5½" Mexican Frank made in black and almost always has a painted white shirt.  His base is much smaller.

I suppose I could have just answered "no", but no one would have believed it was me.

Thanks, the repops can be any color, and I didn't know which of these colors would have come from Marx.

These are the '63 Marx colors. If it isn't one of these, it's a repop.
