I am actually very excited by this and i am surprised it hasn't been done before. I just hope they don't let this project slip away and release it in compilation form

If it does well, maybe it will nudge Universal to realize the actors, and their likenesses, are what people love most about these classics.

Pretty sure Uni is aware of that. Fright-Rags has just announced a new line of merch including T-shirts, socks, and enamel pins featuring Lugosi/Dracula, Karloff/Frankenstein, and the Creature. They're calling it Part I of their new collection.

As Brand Manager for the Stoker Estate, I can tell you that we have nothing to do with this. But it sure looks cool.

The article itself only mentions the Lugosi Estate being involved.
QuoteThe comic book arm of Legendary Entertainment will publish Bram Stoker's Dracula Starring Bela Lugosi in late 2020, in partnership with the Lugosi Estate and Kerry Gammill, publisher of Bela Lugosi's Tales From the Grave.

Isn't Dracula in the public domain?
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

Yes, it is in the public domain. The Estate exists to promote Stoker's works and give it's official blessing to projects they like or are involved in. Here's a link with more information:

Well perhaps for most people. But for me the likenesses of the Universal actors are not the biggest drawing card. For one thing I much prefer Christopher Lee's Dracula to Bela Lugosi's. But even a generic Dracula on a well-done aesthetically pleasing product is acceptable to me.

Collecting! It's what I do!

This was placed on my Amazon Wish List about 1 month ago.  Really looking forward to it!

Got mine as well, and I like it a lot. I haven't had a chance to actually read it, but it looks great just from flipping through it. Liked that older Dracula in the graphic novel looks like older Bela, but when he is replenished he looks more like younger Bela.
