Quote from: Sir Masksalot on December 13, 2019, 11:21:39 AMLo, the poor "Mole People". They've been panned by film critics, shunned by retailers, but I happen to love these down and dirty denizens of their ancient underground.

Mole People are boss!

For some odd reason, I've never seen The Mole People.  Not sure how I missed this one.  Guess I need to add it to the list of movies that need watched.
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity...

^ Here's a Don Post "Mummy" I used to own decades ago. Is anyone else here old enough to remember when they were chalk white?

Oh absolutely! It'll live up to your every expectation.

2010 Don Post Studios "Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 Michael Myers"

I've never watched RZ's H2 but find your mask a good deal more interesting than the bland and pasty Kirk-face of previous movies in the franchise. The eye mesh is a nice creepy touch.

Doh!

I'm in the camp of hating the Rob Zombie movies, but did like what they did for the mask in his H1. Frankly, I found the aging more convincing there than in the Halloween 2 reboot from 2018.

In any event, great to see a new review, Jupiter!

I just scored this beauty off eBay today!
1988 Don Post Karloff Frankenstein finished by Sam McCain. It will be an upgrade from my rotted out copy.

Sir Masksalot

Sam McCain was a great painter, one of the best that Don Post Studios ever had. I was never able to get a Frankenstein mask
from that batch he painted back in 1989 (they were only sold at Universal Studios Florida) but based on photos I've seen, yours
looks just like them. Congratulations, vader45.

He was not cheap at $450 but that was a price I was willing to pay. Then the crooks who run Ohio took $33 in internet sales tax. I think that's utterly ridiculous they charge internet tax, where is the money going? Does Ohio have owners stock on the Internet?

But it sure beats out my rotted out copy I had for a few years.

Here he is! Are we sure it's a McCain copy? It's different then my rotted copy that he himself confirmed that he painted, years ago before he passed.

None the less it's in subperb condition for its age and still tagged!

Sir Masksalot

I don't think Sam was adding that extreme infection around the gashes back then. Either way, here's a photo of a Frankenstein
that he indisputably painted at DPS in 1989. You make the call, vader45 >

Interesting. That photo looks exactly like the one that just got in the mail. The other has the extra yellow and different hairline. But Sam said he painted that one. IDK now. Lol

One thing to note is, the rotted one has the 1962 copy right stamp while the other has no stamp.

Tag has a Morris Costumes price tag of $70.00. even this mask fetched a premium price back then!

P.S. a simple Google search told me the yellow scar is on the 1983 Frankenstein. The stock photo 100% matches mine. I think Sam was just a little mistaken. Glad that's cleared up!
