I was immersed in punk from 1980-1983 and spread out into various styles of metal. I pretty much have lived this song and love the hell out of it. Think back to 2007-08. F the system!!

Sex Pistols: Holidays In The Sun. It has one of the most powerful riffs I've ever heard.
"Well friends, that's all there is to life: just a little laugh, a little tear." - Prof. Echo (Lon Chaney, Sr.)

I agree that is a pretty cool song. I prefer God Save the Queen off that one.
I literally spent hours wading through all styles of punk and HC. VERY tough decision but Corrupting ways hits so close to home for me I had to pick that one over another 50 that I could easily call my fave. So many great bands from then. DK's Black Flag, Subhumans ,Discharge, Agent Orange etc.
Another fave,I know that unless you lived in a small town like Mayberry that anarchy would never work in the real world but....It's nice to dream.
In my top 10 list. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm5t4sXHyKo

I am not sure if they qualify as punk, but "Life During Wartime" by The Talking Heads is my fave if it does. 8)

Wolfman

Not sure if Elvis Costello qualifies as punk, but if so, mine would be "Pump It Up".

Great song. Life During Wartime my fav Talking Heads song too. Nice selections.

Great topic. I'm tempted to pick a Misfits song, but I think they're more complicated than "punk." Obviously they're a punk band, but they also have strong rockabilly and deathrock sound. Even a metal influence at times.

So I'm going with a more straight forward punk band imo: Bad Brains. One of fav bands of all time.

Fav song probably "Sailin On."

"Fearless Vampire Killers" close second favorite from BB. So many great songs.

I'd put Minor Threat in conversation too.

Not really punk, but awesome. Elvis is one of the best writers of his generation.
