I got my first two at the same time back in 79". When I came home and showed my Mom(a super old school Catholic) she acted like I was a pedophile and refused to even talk to me for almost a month.
Now I have something like 18. There are a few I wish I didn't get because I am no longer into that area, several D&D wizards, dragons etc.
Going to have to go to my calves cuz that is really the only area I have left that I can show. Too much of a beer drinking old guy to do my back, shirt off. Zombie Shocked
This page shows AWESOME work. And I am sure that some of these are in the $4 figure price tag. Wish I could do it all over again.

No tattoos for me! It's beyond me why anyone would want one?

Tattoo artists are doing some amazing-detailed work nowadays but that detail is going to muddy overtime.  I wanted to get some Universal Monsters tattooed but the cost always dissuaded me.  I do have a Misfits tattoo (got back in '92') on my back but it will be my one and only.

You're kidding, right. This isn't the old testament here. Back around 20 years back when I was built like an NFL quarterback I was walking thru a large shopping mall and this kid around 10 saw me and instantly asked is mom if I was a "bad man". I looked at him with daggers in my eyes and growled, "YESSS I am,just got out of jail for killing a smart mouth little kid. >:D >:D
Both him and mom walked as fast as they could to the nearest exit.  >:D >:D
Once upon a time people with artwork were stereotyped as bikers gangsters or "drunken sailors" It was considered a slam in societies face but no longer.
Over the years I have run into bankers,Teachers, housewives and people from ALL walks of life that have many. There are artits out there that can literally do work that looks 3D and comp generated. Problem is they are booked for a year+ out and are REALLY expensive  :o :o
Yesterday I was driving to the local burger/rib joint for dinner when i passed the local tat place. Saw a cute girl in her early mid 20's hanging out and HOLEE F$#$#. She was in a pair of short shorts and had 90% of both thighs covered. Wish I had time to talk and take a couple pics..buuut ,my pitbull was whining and ribs getting cold..
I am going to be over the course of this year be dumping a ton of my toys so I can get me a couple full sleeves  and then some.
AS a side note, several years ago when I was a stupidvisor for my work. The head OPM nationwide was saying how unless I wore a long sleeve shirt even in the summer so I would not show my ink that they would bounce my ass.
In no short terms I did my very best Clint Eastwood impersonation I told him that I would file a lawsuit . He never went there again.

Nope! I can't imagine having somebody draw something on me that I couldn't wash off if I got tired of it, or if I broke up with "Linda", "Suzi", or whoever, or decided I didn't want to be a Nazi with a swastika on my forehead after all. Women covered with tattoos are a total turnoff, too.

You wouldn't win. Private companies are allowed to have "dress codes". A tattoo is not the same thing as a birthmark. Maybe you could get away with it if your job didn't require you to deal with the public?

As a tattoo fan, enthusiast or whatever I am. Having realized that a tattoo or many tattoos
would be permanent. I made the commitment
to have something on my body I could absolutely LIVE and enjoy looking at with the rest of my life. Names and religious symbols added to the skin are not my thing. However. Someone else may want a name or image that brings special memories.

As it stands now. Many companies are beginning to realize and bend the rules when hiring people with tattoos. It has become common for people who are hired or employed to have a tattoo or several tattoos. I am employed, and have worked for the Hospitality industry for well over three decades. I am definitely in the public eye as well as others who have tattoos. In the past decade, Companies are becoming more lenient and there have been many changes and less focus on employees' tattoos.

I have always held off on something a permanent personnal thing that would be on ones body for life. Back around 9-10 years ago I was already going to a shop for a few hundred dollars in work, my pain level at this point was really high so I had some initials on my lower spine,  Zombie Shocked OOOWWW. Something personal  between me and her.. She was so amazed I did that she cried for like 20 mins straight.
Now that my Wife and best Friend has gone into the skies I am going to have a fave picture of her on my right calf so I am in touch with her Forever. :'(

Well, actually I did win in a way. That a$*h*l** OPM  on his bi annual visits would shake my hand with BS praise.
Over the years with this company I have given over 26 years of my life to ,everyone in Mgmt positions have backed off.
Guess the last joke was on me since I have been on medical leave thru my work and even tho in the mean time I still am paying for insurance I no longer have a job. BFD  >:D. And life goes on. Almost a blessing to get all those a$*h*l**s out of my life.
