I have been a KISS fan since 74". They have so many great Hard Rock songs under their belt in the early days. I have to admit by tje year 1981 hit I was no longer into that style of music getting a strong taste of both Death Metal and Black Metal.
Going back in the years ,the first time I saw KISS they were opening for some dumbass progrock band called Uriah Heep ::)
U.H became a fave  a few years later.

I have to admit that Dynasty was a BIG tour off and honestly I have rarely listened to any Kiss after 1980,So I guess I have to revisit alot of their later offerings. Ramble Ramble etc etc ::)

Damn, almost forgot this golden gem that I saw after a night of drugs an alcohol
. Back in the day there was NOTHING like a couple shots of vodka and a hit of Acid.  Zombie Alien

FINALLY got this video to attach. Watched this on TV when I was 15 and was totally blown on buzzables.

So to add to this,I cannot believe that this band opened for Kiss. Guess the sponsors were weighing the odds. Within a coup;e years I had pretty much bought anything I could get from UH.  IMO one of the top 20 bands of the 70s-early 80's  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVn-cQLby3I

KISS memories-
HALLOWE'EN night 1998, Dodger Stadium.

Looking back at the show, it wasn't KISS' performance that was special. It was the entire night. Magical, would best describe that evening. Roughly 32,000 KISS fans, enthusiasts and rock fans attended the performance.

People dressed for Hallowe'en. Fans wearing their favorite KISS persona. Crazed people, inebriated by alcohol and the magic of the night. Not to mention the prior performance of the Psycho Circus, performers.
Daredevils, acrobats and contortionists.

That night, pretty cool and amazing.

Good choices mars. Couple of good songs on Asylum, but yeah the fluorescent yellow and pink wardrobe was pretty whack.

Do you guys remember the first Kiss record, cd, or tape you bought with your own money?

My dad had all the makeup era Kiss records so I just listened to his collection. But I had money saved up from birthday cards and remember buying Lick it Up when it came out on vinyl. I was probably like 8 yrs old. I bought Lick it Up and Born Again from Black Sabbath (you could tell early on who my two favorite bands were). I bought them at Tower Records in San Diego, down by the old Sports Arena for those familiar with that area.

In terms of cassettes I remember buying Animalize and Asylum with my own money. And I was in high school when I bought my first Kiss cds. I bought the Kiss Alive double cd. Dressed to Kill was prob second cd I bought if my memory is correct.

I just off Ebay picked up NM copies of Kiss Alive 1 &2 for around $20 delivered. Spring IS coming and I WILL be cranking, Favorite live songs are neck and neck Black Diamond and Detroit Rock City.

Geezer.
I recall my Mom having a copy of a KTel record with KISS'- Hard Luck Woman. That was my first unofficial KISS record( last year I found that very same copy of the KTel record. Around 1978, Hotter Than Hell, KISS ALIVE! and Destroyer were in my collection, through a trade I made. Christmas of 1978. My Mom purchased all of the solo records. Imagine THAT Christmas. Opening up the four KISS solo records and seeing the puzzle posters and order forms. Boom!!
Later in 1979, I earned some cash and purchased KISS ALIVE II(1977). Another cool record with some nice extras.

Tower Records is where most my records/vinyl was purchased. Las Vegas had two, awesome Tower Records stores. In the mid 80s, I started purchasing cassette tapes of KISS, Sabbath, Metallica, Sex Pistols, Rolling Stones, etc, etc. I did not have a lot of cassette tapes( now I do). The format is making a slow resurgence.
Tower was the place for my Record, VHS, DVD and collectibles, fever.  Wherehouse Records, was another
place for hard-to-find vinyl imports.

Lester..
Really good score on both KISS ALIVE!/ALIVE II. Crank it till your ears bleed and or your neighbors. My favorite tracks off of ALIVE are 100, 000 years, Got to Choose, Deuce, Rock Bottom and Fire House. Alive II, God of Thunder, Ladies Room, Love Gun, Hard Luck Woman, Shout It Out Loud and all of side four.

Great memories Mars. Thanks for posting that podcast. Mark Chiccini has some great Kiss podcasts too. I met him last summer at the Deep Purple/Judas Priest show in Detroit area.

Cool, Geezer! I have watched Three Sides from the beginning. In 2014, I met Michael B. and Tommy at the KISS Monster mini golf in Las Vegas. KISS had their residency at the Hard Rock. Mark did not go.

That's awesome. And that's the real Kiss too. I was just commenting in another thread how I'm going through wrestling phase again (the old school matches that is).
