I wouldn't buy them. The reason I bought the AHI Creechies  tributes were the all new sculpts....not just the boxes. In order for them to "match" the AHI Creechie tributes, more than just a new coat of paint is required to pull it off properly, laddies.

I wonder how they decide what to release and when to release it.

The Creature AHI (thin / wide / boxed / carded) appears pretty easy choice.  For whatever reason they released a boxed wide glow version, and Entertainment earth will be releasing a boxed thin glow version.

Did they want to release all 4 monsters in AHI packaging?  If now, I wonder why.

Now that the Metaluna Mutant is no longer a part of the Universal monsters line, I can see why they'd release a Soapie of it and a glow carded figure.  No licensing fees, apparently.  So make as much money off it as you can.

As to the Luminators line, I wonder why they decided to release The Phantom in Wave 1 when the Phantom was never a part of the original Luminator model kits.

What other types of figure series could they release?  They've already likely recouped all the cost of manufacturing these figures (design, sculptures, manufacturing the initial figures), so they're likely trying to make cash off of those figures any way they can, thus the different packaging, color variants, glow in the dark, black light coloring.

How about the figures released in mini Aurora box art packaging?  Original / Frightening Lightning / Glow-In-The Dark boxes.

Just keep em coming and we'll likely keep on buying them.

And my order should ship either later today or tomorrow - got a shipping notice BUT it's just them creating the shipping label.

I'm still hoping for a non-glow version of the Soapies.  The already have the molds.

Yeah, they could just slap a different coat of paint on their original figures, put them in AHI style boxes, and we'd buy them.  I probably would.

As a hater of repaints, even I would buy those. These Illuminator figures are just silly to me.

I wasn't a big fan of the luminator model kits.  I was just getting back into monsters and monster models, so I bought them so I could paint them up nicely.  But when I saw them with the black light on, I liked the look, so back to the store to get another set.  And these figures, the AHI boxes and cards, the luminators, even the weird colors, all appeal to people who had models and figures growing up.  Like all the Alien figures from companies like Super 7 and NECA making the packaging look like the Kenner 1979 toys.  It's all for nostalgic reasons.  Now me, personally, I never liked the look of those Kenner Alien packaging, so those didn't appeal to me, but the new toy companies keep making them so there must be a demand for them.

So there are fans of the Universal monsters who will buy them just to complete their collections, and there are people who like one monster or another - the creature is especially popular.

As to the Soapies - the glow ones are no longer on their website, so however many they made in the glow plastic apparently did sell out.  I hope that means more will follow, but so far none, so maybe they just made enough to see how the demand would be.  Again, something designed to bring back memories of our youth.

I'm with you on these and I was surprised that they didn't feature it's this latest October offering.

I'm sure they will come as the GITD versions sold well so I think it's only a matter of time (it took long enough for them to release this first series, especially from when we first saw the prototypes).

Whoopsie.  They did release the phantom, didnt they?  It was the creature they didnt release.  He would have been good in green plastic.

Yes, creech got the shaft.  .    I often get confused myself with these guys and have to refresh.    For awhile I thought they did a Godzilla.

It would be really interesting if Monogram released a Creature kit in fluorescent green.

I don't know the details and so don't know for a fact, but it's highly unlikely there's no license at all involved.

And yet, there are no (so I am told) markings on the package that would indicate a license. Whereas all of their other licensed products have one.

I'm assuming there is a license too.  It's just nothing something anyone is advertising at the moment.   :-X :-X :-X
