Thank you, Mike.
I have a set of the first run of cards. Wasn't aware of series 2 or 3.

There's no series 2 and 3. If you're referring to the titles on the photos, like "Garbage Pail Kids - Cards 1", it just means photo #1.

There isn't a series 2 or series three. There is however a "2nd PRINTING" of the original series. The first printing came with the pink wax packs. The second printing comes with green wax packs. This was not an attempt to create alternate versions of the same card. If you recall the GPK's were a pretty popular item from SDCC and people were demanding they make more. To make more they had to do it as a 2nd printing and they had to denote such on the cards.

This is from the Super 7 website:

"This is the 2nd PRINTING of the cards with a different color outside wrapper than the previous printing. The cards are the same but the cards and stickers have "**" on the backs to denote 2nd Printing. Please note the card selection in each pack is random."

Are the much anticipated "SOAPIES" going to happen this year?

Or any year?

I bought all the SDCC exclusives last year but this year I only picked up a Frankie-- the Japanese graphics were cool, but the translucent casting was not my thing.   The NYCC glow figures though, those were rockin' -- then I was killing time in an FYE while Mrs Fish was doing some shopping and I came upon a regular Dracula-- and he looked so much better in person I grabbed him and then ordered a regular edition Frankenstein online.   Both are winners.   I like how solid they seem-- if you're a kid you could actually play with these without breaking them.

The rep said they are definitely coming out. I assume it won't be another whole year?

Hoping Super7 will show some stuff off at ToyFair.

If they aren't at Toy Fair they aren't happening. I'm curious to find out. Wave 3 sculpts of the Reaction Monsters are hopefully being shown at Toy Fair. That was what they told me they were planning on. If you got to Big Bad Toy Store and search Reaction figures it appears Super 7 has a fairly ambitious lineup of Reaction figures being released between Feb and June (Thundercats, BTTF Part I and II, tons of Aliens, TMNT and much more, which they'll be showing at Toy Fair). With all that they may not show the monsters.

On a separate note, my son got the Super 7 Creature puzzle for Christmas. Mywife and kids put the 1,000 piece Creature puzzle together on New Years Eve/New Years Day. It was a significant undertaking (I didn't help because I don't like putting puzzles together).

SUPER SOAPIES!!!! but not Universal Monster ones :-\

But maybe the sudden release of Alien Soapies leaves open the possibility the monster ones could suddenly be spring upon us?

It is a good sign although I'm not so happy to read that these actually contain soap as it's going to make them even more expensive to ship (especially to the UK!). There are a few places that stock Super7 over here but they don't get all the releases and I'll bet these won't be one of them.

Hopefully the monsters will be with us all soon though.

Me, too.  Since these will be available only by mail for almost everyone.

Why put soap in them?  No one is buying them for the soap.

If these were cheaply available in regular stores for people wanting to buy interesting bottles to make their kids more likely to want to get in the tub, it might make sense.  But no one wants to pay the elevated prices these will fetch for a bottle the kid will drain as soon as possible to get at the empty.

And I don't like the idea of a collectible that has the potential to leak (all over a lot of other expensive collectibles) sometime in the future.  What's my option?  Breaking the seal and emptying the thing - instantly lowering its value before it ever hits my shelf, or worse, poking a hole in the bottom and damaging the bottle itself?

Not that it changes anything but they're blow bubbles with a bubble wand connected to the head. They didn't do actual soap like the originals because they'd have to get tins of approvals and didn't want the liability if someone got a rash or drank it or something. I'm sure they put bubbles inside because if it was just empty 51% of people would complain it didn't even have soap/bubbles. I'm sure they just decided to go the safe route and only have 49% of people complain it did have bubbles.

If your going to keep them in pristine mint condition for your estate to sell after you're dead I'd suggest keeping them stored upright in a separate sealed container. If you're going to look at it on a shelf then just unscrew the cap and dump the bubbles out. If you're me, just give it to your kids to blow the bubbles.

Regardless, I hope they get released.
