After seeing the figures in person at FYE, I can attest they made a misstep in making Dracula's cape a mini skirt and the Creature's surprised bright red lips are awful too. I am literally only buying these for the cards. Don't get me wrong, the cards are lovely and additions like Mole Man, Metaluna Mutant and others are really nice figures besides the cards. These have their moments. Honestly though, if they don't show up on their site where I can hit a button, buy a set, and be done....I may not worry about getting them. I just don't want to go hunting the things.  If that even makes any sense to anyone but me,lol.

Oof...beware...evilbay just doubled their tax. I just bought a set of the NYCC glow figures and the tax was 13 bucks!

It isn't ebay...it's where you live. The ebay tax thing sucks.

Ridiculous! That's just plain abuse.

New York charges an 8.8% sales tax, even if the sale occurs elsewhere if the product is coming there. Ebay was forced to implement these taxes, even if the seller isn't a store. They collect and maintain and pay them to the necessary state. It's sure to be a death knell for them and many other internet venues to sell junk off. I sold off some of my DD figures recently, and taxes were applied to every single sale. 34 of the 50 states in the US passed this. This is the current state of our union. They're all broke because they embezzle like mad and we pay for it.

The eBay tax thing does suck. It hit me for the first time buying the NYCC glow figures. Weird thing is I put in my home address as the shipping address and the tax was almost $10, then I realized I wanted them shipped to my work (10 miles from my home and in the same county) and the tax was only $5 (there is no city specific sales tax where I live).

I was happy to pay 1/2 the tax but it makes no sense to me (and I am very savvy when it comes to taxes).

This bothers me a great deal, not because I'm paying the tax per se (I hate taxes but they are a thing). It bothers me because I am paying the sales tax rate of where I live. It's an illogical taxing system. If I am going to pay the tax anywhere it should be to the location I purchased it from. That is where the economic transaction took place. It gives an incentive to a business being located in a particular state. It is the equivalent of me driving to a brick and mortar store in a neighboring state and buying a vacuum, then bringing the vacuum back to my house in my home state. I pay the tax in the state I bought it in, not the state my house is in.

It's making people like me just go back to local trading and selling to advance my hobby. No point in being online doping it and then have them declare I am a "store" at some point. So it's time to just go back to the wya things wer befroe the internet. It's a hobby. Not a business. If you want a business, go bug Best Buy or NECA.

Between the tariffs, the taxes, and vendor greed...this hobby is unsustainable.

I've thought about quitting many times.  But they keep making things I want...
