"That's either a very ugly woman or a very pretty monster." - Lou Costello

Phantom of the Opera (1925) and The Cat and the Canary -- love the Chaney Phantom.  Definitely the gold standard.   First time I had seen Cat and Canary -- a good movie, and pretty good special effects for its time.
"Sometimes I have wondered whether life wouldn't be much more amusing if we were all devils, no nonsense about angels and being good."

Deadly Mantis is my favorite "big bug" movie. Haven't seen the MST3K treatment yet, but it's probably a hoot.

BTW, anytime you see the word "deadly" as part of a title of anything, substitute the word "diddling" and let it roll around in your brain.
Example: Diddling Hands Of Kung Fu
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein(1948)
The Land Unknown(1957)
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

Don't think I've ever seen that one -- how was it?  ;)

"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

The Black Cat (1934) ... last night.  I had forgotten how much I like this movie.  Excellent production, and the first (I think) movie to have a full-length musical score.  Plus ... Karloff and Lugosi!  And Lucille Lund ...  8)

I believe it was last October I watched Bride of Frankenstein to try and get some friends into the classics.

That is rather lacking, but I remember back in October/November of 2008 I sat down and watched 95% of the classic films on my Legacy Collection DVD's. One a night. Good times. :)

Captive Wild Woman(1943)...both last night.

Frankenstein 1970 -- hadn't seen it in almost 50 years, and really
enjoyed it. Karloff was over-the-top great in it!

You really have to watch it with the running commentary (whole lotta fun).

I did that too -- Burns and Weaver were, as usual, really funny. And actually this wasn't a Universal picture -- it was done by Warner Bros.
