Very cool, have yet to catch a classic on the big screen. Did see Bride on TCM  tonite though.

Werewolf of London
House of Frankenstein
Murders in the Rue Morgue
The Black Cat
Listen to them. Children of the Night. What music they make!

Paladin

It's been a few weeks for me, being wrapped up in a few other things, but for Satrurday I have The Invisible Man, on queue.
"Traveler of both time and space..."

capoetc

Creature from the Black Lagoon (from the Essential BluRay collection) in 3D tonight .... the 3D effects were actually pretty good (I have a 55" LG flat screen HDTV).  It's the first time I have seen this movie in 3D.  Lots of fun!
"Sometimes I have wondered whether life wouldn't be much more amusing if we were all devils, no nonsense about angels and being good."

Paladin

It'll be The Invisible Man, The Invisible Man Returns and a 3rd pot luck Universal or Hammer film since we'll be snowed in.
"Traveler of both time and space..."

Watched the 1943 Phantom of the Opera this weekend with the family. We all really enjoyed it. I had a sick day from work yesterday and watched the Spanish Dracula for the first time, and then Dracula and Frankenstein with commentary tracks from the Blu-Ray set.

Recently purchased the green box for the MUMMY series. Never seen any of the sequels so gradually working my way through them. Watched The Mummy's Hand last night for the first time. Pretty good film, though I was a little disappointed. Too much buildup, not enough payoff. Although I really liked that Kharis was in mummified the whole time as opposed to Imhotep who was mummified for the first five minutes of the film. Going to try to watch The Mummy's Tomb tonight.

"Mummy's Tomb" is a fine sequel, and here's some interesting trivia for you. The female lead Elyse Knox, who died about a year ago, is the mother of former UCLA star quarterback and current NCIS actor Mark Harmon. Harmon also was great in his portrayal of serial killer Ted Bundy in "The Deliberate Stranger." Enjoy...

I watched the Kharis films for the first time this past Halloween, and really enjoyed them. Sure, they have a B-quality about them, but they are very entertaining. Kharis is one unstoppable SOB!!!

I didn't know that about Mark Harmon's mother. Interesting!!!

One more thing about Mark Harmon -- his father was famed University of Michigan running back and Heisman trophy winner Tom Harmon.

Very interesting indeed! I love little bits of trivia like this....makes watching the films even more fun than they already are!

Yeah, but these days I find myself much more willing to watch a great B movie than other films any day.

Don't get me wrong, I love Karloff as Imhotep, but I really think I prefer Kharis as an unstoppable monster, whereas Imhotep was really just kind of "menacing".
