I hope you had a great birthday. Did you like "Untold"? I found it so so.
I thought it worked alright as a generic action movie with a slight supernatural twist but I was more interested in seeing what happens next in the Modern Day
Truth is, I liked the Ford coppola version of Vlad the Impaler played by Gary Oldman. But I think Evans could do really well as Dracula the Vampire

Costello: Who are they? Frankenstein and Dracula?

I agree with you about Luke Evans. Given the right script, he would make a good Dracula.

Bride of Frankenstein from the new Blu set - last night.

The film looked SO GOOD. I didn't buy the previous Blu-ray releases of the main titles, so this was my first chance seeing this in HD and it had been a few years since I have seen the film in general.

Such a masterwork. The combination of the writing, story, acting, camera work, and the beautiful score. A near-perfect film.

We've got two nights of HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME in town (1925, 1939) and while not "Classic Universals", I've never seen the 1923 on the big-screen.  The film festival's production staff couldn't get or even buy a print of the 1956 version with Anthony Quinn, and couldn't get a good response as to why not.  "It's a rights issue or too much is missing and they don't want to admit it" were the suppositions.
