I collect what I like. I think Mord also subscribes to this theory. For me, I don't collect complete lines unless I like every figure in the line. I collect on an individual figure basis. Also, a well done figure from a movie I just kind of like, would probably make me purchase the figure. Although liking the movie is probably the first criteria for buying a figure, how well crafted the figure is definitely plays a part.

There is an example that I can use to demonstrate what I am talking about. The original Halloween is probably my number 2 favorite film of all time, perhaps number one. However, I never purchased the first McFarlane Movie Maniacs Michael Myers figure because it looked nothing like him. I have a whole bunch in that line, but not the Myers. However, when they came out with the 18 inch Myers, I purchased that one.

i'm with you for the most part on collecting figures, particularly from DD. I purchased the Jack Palance Dracula from this new wave but may only also pick up the Frank Langella one due to being familiar with these two. The Evil Dead figures I feel like I will need each of these to complete the set as these films were very big for me (as they probably are for a bunch of us on here). Saying that I did think twice about the recent Ash figure due to Neca doing such a great Mego style one but once I saw the picture of the DD one I couldn't resist. I have also picked up the odd figure from a series as I've really liked the look of it and it's normally based on a film I'm into. Occasionally I've picked up a figure because I've just loved it without seeing the film like the Plague of Zombies one but did then seek out the film which I enjoyed very much. Sometimes if a figure just looks stunning it's hard to resist but I'm trying to now focus a little more on characters based on films I really love or have a special place for me.

Interesting what you say Anton about there being two different series based on the first two Evil Dead films. I dare say I'll end up with them all but will be interested to see what characters get picked. Looks like yet more exciting times to come from DD!  ;D

While we're on the subject of waves, I'm curious to know if there are any older DD waves that remain to be completed.  I happen to be a completist for the most part, and it helps when virtually everything DD puts out is worthy of purchase.  There have been a few figures (I can probably count them on my fingers) that I chose not to purchase simply because I never saw the film or didn't have an interest in the character or sculpt.  But for the most part, I've loved just about everything that has been offered.  It would be nice to have a record of those figures from previous DD waves that have yet to see the light of day.

I can help you out there, Joe.

Older series to finish up:
1. Vampires 1: Radu was planned
2. Werewolves Wave 1: Legend of the Werewolf
3. Horrors of the 30's-40's: Cat and the Canary

Newer series to finish up:
4. Romero Zombies: 3 more figures
5. Monster Squad: 4 more figures
6. Evil Dead 1: 2 more figures
7. Evil Dead 2: unknown how many more are planned
8. Classic Dracula: Langella and Jourdan figures
9. Werewolves Wave 2: Waldemar Werewolf, Undying Monster werewolf figures

That's all I can think of.  DD usually has a bunch of series running concurrently and staggers the releases out between stellar sellers and slower movers. Unfortunately the older stuff moves slower.

I've never known DD to not finish a series they advertised....but with the economy still sluggish and wages stagnant (while the price of everything else keeps going up)....the day may come. Hopefully not. I think this is pretty much a list of all active series old and new though. Enjoy!

That's really not that many left to complete the waves and most of them are more recent releases. I was surprised to see another They Live double pack released last month though as I thought this was only ever going to be the first set. I'm thinking this set did well and the decision was made to make a couple more to go with them. I'm glad that happened though as it's nice to have them all and I wonder if maybe there might be something out there already that might get more figures added at a latter date, DD seem to be always full of surprises!

After spending a lot of time chatting with Martin, being involved in brainstorming sessions (which he does often with some of his customers), and seeing some previews over the years....he has so many things planned it's awesome.  DD really is the main game in town for figures of films we want merchandise from but no one wants to pick up. The primary reason being there is little or no money to be made. martin and DD is truly a labor of love primarily.

....and you're right of course. There are only three series that have a final figure lingering. I am pretty sure all the other waves listed debuted this year.  I know Cat and Werewolf have gotten past the sculpting, painting, and card printing stage. But let's face reality: Radu's fanbase is limited. As is Cat's and Legend of the Werewolf. Plus...Radu and Cat have had something in the realm of merchandise done of them before. Model or bust or what not.

It's safer to put out Romero Zombies or Evil Dead knowing those are uber popular properties. Or Monster Squad, a film that is well beloved but has little or nothing out there for people. Or even a slightly older property like Dracula....because the actor choices for each character has literally had nothing made for them....save for El Conde that had a limited release resin model. Being active in the garage kit hobby for years, the bottom line for kit producers was always "I would lose my shirt if I did Palance, Jourdan, or Langella." Yet DD pulled them off....with astonisheing likenesses and sell out successes....so far.

After conversations with Martin, the B and C list older lingering, unfinished properties will probably be released mixed in with figures that will sell out immediately. None of us want Martin to release figures that causes him to lose his shirt, or cause DD fiscal problems. Then we wouldn't get the things he has planned. I for one am anxious for some newer, unacknowledged properties. Things like Without Warning, Creepshow, The Fog, My Bloody Valentine,  etc, etc, etc 8)

Mord

You hit the nail on the head, Anton...MY BLOODY VALENTINE would be fantastic!

Martin...this is why everyone loves DD. Interaction with the fans and you being a fan's fan and being passionate about the work you do. Cannot wait to see some of the things you have discussed with us over the years making their way into my collection. I am sure others feel the same way. Who else would've taken a chance on Wasp Woman and Boy Who Cried Werewolf except for DD?

P.S. Joe/Ian/all--- I forgot "Manster" from the Science Gone Wrong Wave. For whatever reason, I thought Closet Monster was the last figure in that wave. My poor brain, lol.

Thanks for taking the time to list the unfinished waves, Richard.  I was really excited about the Manster and Cat & Canary characters, and I'm hoping Martin doesn't forget about them, or that budgetary reasons prevent their release.  DD has not let us down yet, so I am hopeful.  They truly are the only consistent show in town.

Martin chimed in and said everything was moving along and all would see release eventually. He has spoiled us all, lol. He always come through. Even on characters the world has long since forgotten. Since SHS dropped the ball on Creepshow, and is the laughing stock of the figure and/or horror world presently....the time is ripe for some Creepshow dollies, lol. ;D

Would love to see more Evil Dead 2,but unlikely we'll get more anytime soon.......Me and Martin teamed up for a one of a kind Evil Dead 2 Ash
