Do you freeze your pumpkin after Halloween so it can last  over a year?

They last a long time - if not carved, but I'm guessing you'd have  to freeze one to keep it over a year.

Nope, no freezing. It was kept in a cool hallway in Fall, Winter and Spring. Brought it in my house this last Summer. It is amazing. Previously, the longest I have ever had one last was until April.

Some pumpkins last a really long time if they are kept cool and DRY.  They seem to hate getting wet.  I've seen a couple last as long as 8 months.

I think your pumpkin holds the record for untreated pumpkins that I am aware of.

OK thanks guys. 'Makes sense a cool, dry condition would make the pumpkins live on.

I remember I had a very small pumpkin in my office for almost a year - uncarved, of course.

Currently we have 4 pumpkins in our living room and may keep the largest and smallest of them to see which lasts the longest.

Wow!  That might be a record  ;D

To cure my blues, I picked up this zip up hoodie from Cavity Colors; with glow in the dark lettering no less.

It's too bad they don't make that as a normal T-shirt with the image on the front.
A life without Halloween and monsters is a life of boredom.

I prefer the designs to be on the back of T-shirts anyway.

Thought I would bump this thread. Another Halloween gone. Even though I sort of live everyday like it's Halloween, I wish it was Halloween everyday.

364 more days 'til Halloween...Silver Shamrock!!! That's how I look at it. (Now I have that song stuck in my head!)
When times are dark, don't consider art to be merely a distraction; rather, think of it as a lifeline-  Neil Gaiman paraphrase.

That's a good way to look at it. Next Halloween will be here before you know it. ;D

This is why it's good to have a monster collection. You can enjoy it any time and get that taste for Halloween.

Mord

Except for the annoying kids begging for candy, every day is Halloween at Castle Mord. Every inch of my monster rooms is filled with bust, figures, toys of all the iconic monsters. I rarely watch anything but horror and world news (talk about scary). Frankenstein monster images almost become religious artifacts for me. I'm going to watch a Hammer film right now. Don't tell me it's not Halloween.

Quote from: Hepcat on November 07, 2016, 12:46:50 PMI always scour the supermarkets and discount department stores for post Halloween sales in early November. Halloween doesn't end for me anyway until the candy's gone.

The two best ways to stave off Halloween withdrawal are the following:

1. Taking full advantage of all the post-holiday candy and Halloween cake sales. On the way to work today I scored a Halloween box of Old Dutch Potato Chip bags for $2.96:

Plus a bag of Leaf Rain-Blo gum for $3.00:

2. Continuing to peruse all the Halloween threads on UMA including this oldie but goody:

I just watched Cult of Chucky. Despite all the negativity, I enjoyed the film. It filled the need to keep Halloween going. ;D

I like how some channels still have horror movies on the day after Halloween. Many channels and circles, as soon as Halloween is over, all Halloween/Horror programming is gone. However, it might be me, but it seems like there is more horror in general on tv now a days. We have the SyFy channel, Comet Channel and others.
