The complete "MANT!" feature

There is no complete feature. Just a couple of scenes/clips.

Not a "minor" film in the sense we have been talking about - but not a $200,000,000 blockbuster, either:

Just finished watching "Matinee" with John Goodman.  THAT is a film I would love to see get a Deluxe Collector's Edition BLU-Ray release.

It should come with Director and Film Historian Commentaries  -  Cast Commentary/Reunion/Interviews  -  The complete "MANT!" feature  -  Postcard-sized posters  -  and maybe coupons for Full-Sized Mail-away "MANT!" posters.

I'd be first in line to pre-order mine!

I would LOVE to have that. The U.K. was lucky enough to get a killer blu-ray of Matinee and The 'Burbs. I'm incredibly jealous.

Mike, do yourself a favor and invest in a region free player. They're not that expensive and will open the door to a world of exclusive import only releases. The restored Hammer Dracula alone is worth the price of the player.

Everybody wanted Dante to make MANT!

At least we have these hilarious 15 min.

I love what we have.

William Schallert and Robert Cornthwaite seem to be having a great time doing this.

Mant moves like as if he were being played by Murray Langston.

Both "MANT!" and 'The 'Burbs" are unappreciated Joe Dante films that wound up on German Blu-Ray releases.

I really do need to do this. The problem is picking the right one.

MANT is on the Matinee DVD. I do wish Mr. Dante would make a full length film.

He was played by Mark McCracken. I don't know who he is, either.

I think the original elements for these two have been lost or damaged beyond all hope.  But I would dearly love to have someone discover something not far removed from camera negatives and blast these onto the Blu-Ray scene:

"Invaders From Mars" - 1953

"1984" - 1956

Complete with all the extras.

Lets not forget Kevin (Invasion of the Body Snatchers) McCarthy and Dick (It Conquered the World) Miller.

Although I don't consider this film "minor" in any sense of the word:

THE THING From Another World, 1951 has never been given a full-fledged Blu-Ray issue.  There is a bare-bones Blu-Ray put out by Warner Brothers as a "Warner Archives" made-on-demand release.  But screw that.

I want a proper 4k scan regular Blu-Ray disc with all the bells and whistles:  Tom Weaver commentary, additional one or two commentaries, some historical prospective documentary with directors like Joe Dante, et al (maybe hosted, narrated by John Carpenter), Stills and promotional material gallery, etc.

Even though The Man From Planet X just beat The Thing into release, It is The Thing that stands out in most minds as the first movie to feature an alien in the flesh.  It was the movie that set the tone for so many that followed.

How about a little long overdue respect?

I would love to see Amanda's Death Deal-1974
The Right to Kill-1971
Unfortunately I have these two on VHS.

Two releases I would love to see with a HD Blu-Ray treatment are Gargoyles (1972), with Bernie Casey, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1968), with Jack Palance.
