Adam West is Batman Once More

Sometimes I wonder if an animated film would be a good way to bring back the Universal Monsters in a more classic, old school style. Of course the issue there is that it's generally assumed that animated films are for kids, so expecting anything with the dramatic weight of the classic films themselves would probably be a bit foolish.

Still, it's nice to see the best Batman back in action, even in animated form.

I LOVE the 1966-68 Batman TV series ( I have all 3 seasons on DVD) But I gotta tell ya, I think they waited a bit too long to do this- Adam West is really sounding old in that clip. (reminds me a bit of the really old Bud Abbott voicing his own character in the Hanna-Barbera Abbott & Costello cartoons). I hope they get good impressionists for Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin.

I would love animated Universal monster movies! Straight to DVD! They could do period pieces without worrying about a big budget. I'm probably in the minority on this site but I love the movie Van Helsing and its animated tie in Van Helsing the London Assignment. I would love more of this kind of thing. It would be an easier way of building an animated cinematic universe with characters crossing over all building up to a "House of ___" type finally. All being period pieces it would feel a lot more organic and much more appropriate than the updated live action movies (of which I will be supporting because I love classic monsters in all of their forms) that are on the way.

I am also looking forward to this. Adam West & Burt Ward were my first television heroes.

I thought it was so cool to bring Adam back to be Simon Trent in "Beware the Gray Ghost" in BTAS. It was also nice to hear him as Mayor Grange in The Batman. So, he never really left Batman Genre. He is 87 now, and I'm glad he is still with us.
