In time for Halloween...

            Creepshow - (Collector's Edition) - BLU-Ray - Scheduled Realese October 23, 2018  ...

Didn't make to me by Halloween, but it got here 2 days after.

Comes boxed with booklet and tons of extras.  The whole package looks so pretty, I was going to take pictures for you.  Then I saw someone else had done an OK job of that on YouTube already:

Really, the nice heavy box is so pretty, I almost hate to throw it out.

ABOUT TIME!

Coming from Shout (Scream) Factory, it should have at least one commentary.

Good Catch.

Why would you throw it out?

Why would you throw it out?

All my movies are in 7mm slimline cases.

The only reason to have a box is to keep the regular Blu-Ray case and booklet together.  I'll put the booklet on my bookshelf and treat the normal DVD case like any other.

Oh yeah, I forgot.

As pretty as it is, it is only good for "Creepshow".  For some reason it is taller than a Blu-Ray case but shorter than a DVD case.  Not practical for anything else.  Getting rid of it allows room enough for 3 more movies.

The 7mm cases are easier to read on the shelf than the 5mm cases - and they hold 2 discs for multi-formats or special editions.

I consider my DVDs and Blu-rays collectibles so I keep all original packaging. The only things I toss are the shrink-wraps. Honestly, I had as soon throw away vintage toy packaging as to discard original DVD/BD packaging. To me it's integral to the piece, above and beyond the digital contents. Not disrespecting anyone else's choices. Just stating mine.

I considered starting a new thread about this very subject.

I toss every carboard sleeve. to me they are pointless space-wasters.  If I had saved them all I would have at least 1000.  That's one thickness for each side, plus that double on the side where it was glued.  That's thicker than 6 reams of printer paper.  I can squeeze in a lot of 7mm DVD cases on that much shelf width and I need every inch I can get.

I hate metal cases.

I see there are people on eBay who sell nothing but cardboard sleeves.  So, I figured there would be many who disagree.

Scream Factory misspells "Lugosi" :(

We go really old-school (back to the 40s, in fact) this winter with the release of THE RETURN OF THE VAMPIRE featuring the original Dracula himself, Bela Legosi! This blood-thirsty classic rises on Blu-ray February 19th.

In 1918, Armand Tesla (Bela Lugosi), a 200-year-old Hungarian Vampire, prowls the English countryside, feeding from the jugulars of the villagers. But Tesla's reign of terror is interrupted when a pair of scientists, Lady Jane (Frieda Inescort) and Sir John Ainsley (Roland Varno), drive a railroad spike through his heart. The "un-dead" Tesla remains safely entombed for two decades until the impact from a stray Nazi bomb accidentally releases him. Along with his werewolf servant Andreas Obry (Matt Willis), the resurrected vampire now plots vengeance on the family that put a halt to his nocturnal feasting.

Extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date.

It would make an interesting thread...and poll.

I've read of a few people throwing away toy packaging so I guess there are also those who toss movie packaging. I shudder to think about getting rid of any original packaging for collectibles. Resale value hits rock bottom for collectibles without packaging. Some people think they'll never want to sell something they've purchased but eventually circumstances (and minds) often change and they screw themselves out of $$$ if they sell collectibles without original packaging. I guess if someone did keep everything until they died, and didn't care about heirs, it wouldn't matter...but things don't always go according to plan. Seems farfetched to worry about the extra room that original cases (and cardboard sleeves?!) take up. I have over 3K DVDs/BDs and I make the room for packaging. A few hundred are stored away in big boxes but I can easily get to them if I want to.

While both of these are great, the one I am really holding out for is This Island Earth!

At least it wasn't on the BD packaging!

I hat that font they used for his name. It really clashes with the poster art.
