GHOST OF SIERRA DE COBRE, THE, 1964 - BLU-Ray - Kino Lorber - Scheduled Release - October 16, 2018

Stars Judith Anderson, Diane Baker and Martin Landau.

Terrified of being buried alive by mistake, a woman puts a phone in her crypt to be able to call home if she needs help.  She dies and nothing happens. Then one day, the phone suddenly rings.  Paranormal investigator Nelson Orion is brought in.

This was originally produced as a TV pilot by Joseph Stephano after he left the "Outer Limits".  Although it did air here and abroad, CBS executives passed on the proposed seies.  It was re-edited and released in Japan in 1967.  AKA: "The Haunted"

Martin Landau, who kept a 16mm file copy, reportedly said he thought it was "creepy" and contained "some of his best work".

Blu-Ray will be released on my birthday.  I think I will treat myself.

Sounds great, Adam. The plot seems vaguely familiar. Btw, happy (early?) birthday.

I saw "Torso" in the theater on a double bill with "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (odd bill). I thought it was enjoyable enough (coulda used more nudity, imo). Actually, I liked it more than "Citizen Kane".

Sure. Remember that "Naked News" on cable years ago? THAT'S how you get information out.

She was talking about NEWS?  Now that you mention it, I seem to remember her lips were moving.

(I just thought she was chewing gum.)

Return of the Living Dead - Part II - Blu-Ray - Shout Factory - Announced Release Date August 14, 2018

They are calling this thing a "Collector's Edition".  With any luck that will mean they will finally restore the original musical score that was replaced after the VHS release.  All of the DVD issues have the lousy substitute score.

Just received my copy.  Haven't watched it yet, but I wanted to let you know what extras they included.

Special Features:

New 2K Scan from the interpositive
        Original Theatrical Soundtrack  (Yea!)
New Audio Commentary with Actress Suzanne Snyder
New Audio Commentary with Gary Smart, co-author of The Complete History of the Return of the Living Dead II and Filmaker ChristopherGriffiths
New Featurette with Special Effects Supervisor Kenny Myers and more...
New Featurette with Writer/Director Ken Wiederhorn
Audio Commentary with Ken Wiederhorn and co-star Thor Van Lingen
"They Won't Stay Dead" - A Look AT Return of the Living Dead Part II and more...
        Reversible DVD Case Art

I'm SO glad to get the original musical soundtrack restored.  The replacement was so lame.  Fans have complained about it for years.

LEGEND OF HALLOWEEN JACK, THE, 2018 - DVD - Sony - Scheduled Release Date: October 2, 2018

UK produced, shot in Wales and the U.K.  Direct to DVD.

Here is the production company's own description:

The sleepy seaside town of Dunwich is about to learn the true meaning of Vengeance. As the residents gear up for the annual Halloween celebration, little do they know that their seemingly perfect town masks a guilty secret ... One year earlier a group of vigilantes took matters into their own hands when notorious criminal Jack Cain escaped conviction. After torturing and killing Cain, they buried his body in the local cornfield and made a pact to never speak his name again. Now, on the day when the veil between the living and dead is at its thinnest, a mysterious apparition begins stalking the land and dishing out brutal retribution to the vigilante group. So begins the Legend of Halloween Jack.

Anyone heard scuttlebutt about this one?  Is it expected to be worth watching?

$28.85, not as cheap as some, but I did get it quick. I will probably wait for the Invisible Man to go on sale before I pick it up.
