It's apparently a limited release and isnt available on Amazon or other retailers yet, only 1,500 copies issued so it may sell out soon.. 

They release limited issues that include a poster.  Then a wider release (cheaper) that do not include a rolled poster in a tube.

This issue of 1500 discs includes the poster.

Just heard from Tom Weaver.

He assures me his commentary WILL be included in Shout/Scream Factory's BLU-Ray of DAY THE WORLD ENDED.

I've "pre-ordered" my copy.  (Imagine, a 3-day pre-order.)

Just got my copy of DAY THE WORLD ENDED.

I got 3 gripes:  1.  Tom Weaver's commentary is not listed as an "Extra" on either the external wrapper or
                            on the disc menu.  It is included as an Audio choice - but, still...  Seems like a slight to me.

                       2.  The poster came folded and not rolled in a tube like all the others I have from Shout.

                       3.  The print looks too dark.  That should have been an easy fix for Shout.

Just got through watching DAY THE WORLD ENDED - twice.

The sun went down and my living room got dark.  The film looks much better in a darkened room.  Some of the interior scenes are still a little dark, but not unwatchable.

The Tom Weaver commentary is definitely one of his best.  It is chock full of interesting details about the film and the cast members.  It really added to my appreciation of the movie.


It is so nice to see all 6 cast members in one shot and not just 3½ like in previous prints.

Highly recommended 50's sci-Fi from Shout/Scream.

I talked to someone who does commentaries for Shout.  He did not do one for The Brain Eaters and neither has another colleague.  They believe that there will NOT be any extras for this issue.

I'm not liking this trend.  Expensive, limited BLU-Rays with unwanted posters and no informative extras.


The Shout pre-order for Brain Eaters doesn't even mention a poster.
