These Americana Series Horror Parade stickers from 1970 are rarely mentioned:

Horror Monsters Grab Bags from the Best Plastics Corporation were available for five cents(!) at many variety/convenience stores, drug stores and five-and-dime stores from about 1964 to 1968. Each bag contained a small package of Sourlets candy plus three plastic figures or toys. Horrorhunter has determined that fourteen different dinosaurs, two cavemen and five different monster figures now known as "Palmer flats" could be found. Here's a shot of Horrorhunter's collection:

He's lacking only the smilodon from the figures he's been able to catalogue.

These Grab Bags can also be found without the colour yellow:

Here are a couple close-up photos of my RCA Victor Monster Rally LP from 1959 with sleeve art by the incomparable Jack Davis:

And here's a more detailed picture of the sleeve that I lifted off the net:

And here are a couple of other LP covers by Jack Davis I found on the net:

Highly recommended!

It should be mentioned that the book I pictured above is the hardcover. The same book is also available as a softcover trade paperback with this cover:

Monster at the Dentist by Ian McLean, on Flickr

The view from my recovery chair, after waking from full anesthesia at the local dentist. (This stuffed monster toy has a very impressive set of healthy teeth -- note the giant yellow toothbrush beside him.)

Cool! Your dentist should stock that aquarium with piranhas though.

I finally have my Holy Grail of Creature goodness!

I am incredibly envious but also happy for you! I've been after that thing since 1976. SOME day, some day.

Now, are you trying to get a red trigger version?  :o
