I was intrigued when I first saw cover blurbs eting Ray Bradbury stories on the covers of EC Comics. Evidently the first few Bradbury stories published by EC were done without Bradbury's knowledge. When he learned of one of these stories, he responded by sending EC a very cleverly penned letter:

Quote from: Ray BradburyJust a note to remind you of an oversight. You have not as yet sent on the check for $50.00 to cover the use of secondary rights on my two stories "The Rocket Man" and "Kaleidoscope". I feel this was probably overlooked in the general confusion of office work, and look forward to your payment in the near future.

That could not have been put better!

And so began the ongoing relationship between Ray Bradbury and EC!

I really like the Topps Frankenstein Stickers set from 1966. Here are some from the collection of Shiverbones:

Here are pictures of a few more that I lifted off the net:

They were another card set with art by the incomparable Norm Saunders! They're hard to find though for an issue that dates back only to 1966 because they were stickers and kids used them as such.

The display box was also out-of-sight fabulous:

Sadly I have nothing but the wrapper:

The Metaluna Mutant has long been much beloved by monster kids far and wide. Particularly striking is this likeness here below captured by the incomparable Basil Gogos:

The Metaluna Mutant first exploded onto drive-in screens across the country in 1955 in the movie This Island Earth:

Unfortunately he was typecast by his part in This Island Earth and never got another acting engagement to the dismay of his many fans.

He tried out for THE BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS and THE BRAIN EATERS, but was told they were looking for a fresh face.

He also put in for the part of Brainiac in the Superman: Brainiaqc Attacks movie but was told that the producers wanted to go in a different direction.

Here's a picture of the very cool Star Trek Tracer Gun:

The Star Trek Tracer Gun is now one of my collecting regrets. You see I bought one cheap at a toy show about thirty years ago. There must have been a warehouse find of these since every second dealer at the show seemed to have at least one on display. Since I wasn't either a Trekkie nor was I much interested in collecting toys in general at the time, I gave it away a few years later to a down on his luck buddy of mine who was a Trekkie. I figured I wouldn't miss it. Well now that I am more of a toy collector I do miss it!

The Milton Bradley Monster Mansion board game from 1981 has fabulous box graphics:

Sadly the game board is rather plain, and overall the game is simply uninspired in general according to longtime UMA member Monsters for Sale:

Here's a good pic of Hororhunter's Best Plastics Corp. collection missing only the Smilodon:

A very cool collection indeed! Best Plastic's figures are really tough to find.

I wish I had this Munsters' Koach

Here's a scan of my Dell comic adaptation of the Die, Monster, Die movie from 1965:

The cover of the comic though was surprisingly drab in comparison with the imagery featured on the movie posters and lobby cards:

Nice! That's gotta be old. Looks like the Hartnell "Doctor Who" on the packaging.

Wow! That's in really nice condition. The slides in old Give-A-Show Projectors are usually much more warped the way they are in my set:

  :)

I believe the Chad Valley Doctor Who Give-A-Show Projector was U.K. only. I don't think it was ever released by Kenner in North America.
