'Boglins' were puppets made of flexible rubber and initially came in two sizes. They had a really cool moving eye mechanism that you could operate with one finger to swivel the eyes from side to side. These critters captured my imagination as a kid.

Not surprising. They probably capture the imagination of many a UMAer right today!

I like the Field Notes and the way the small Boglins are labelled/classified as a sub-species. Very cool!

The three inch Palmer Plastics monsters are most commonly found in green, red, yellow and blue with the blue ones being much less common than the others. Here's a shot of Toy Ranch's Palmers:



White ones can also be found such as these from the collection of Frankenstein73:.

Rarest of all though are caramel coloured ones such as these from the collection of Monsters for Sale:





The caramel ones evidently originated in the dart gun and Palmer monsters sets repackaged by Toy House of Wisconsin. Here are two examples of these sets from the book Too Much Horror Business - The Kirk Hammett Monster Collection:

'BREATH BLASTERS' were a smelly (and  I mean smelly) toy that were actually recalled after a short time on the shelves due to them containing 'harmful chemicals', which isn't surprising considering how bad these smelled. I really can't understate how putrid they were...they absolutely stank!

Nonetheless I'm sure every young monster kid from St. John's to San Diego and Fairbanks to Miami found them charming!

Topps in 1963 issued the 153 card Monster Laffs Midgees set. The cards though were only a third the size of regular cards as they were issued three cards to a 2 1/2" X 4 11/16" panel with each card separated by perforations that could be broken apart.

Later that same year Topps released 66 of the Midgees as standard size Monster Laffs cards. These cards seem to have been issued primarily for vending machine purposes as they were only packaged in generic wrappers. Here are front and back scans of some of mine:

These bouncy monstrosities were a craze which spawned comics, a cartoon, and endless knock-offs and imitations, some of which were pretty cool. There was also a figure line which had spring-loaded 'popping heads'. I can still smell the rubber!
